Quantum cores make stations unaffordable for Joe/anne Sixpack, average EVE player

At the start when structures first came out, me and the people with me could defend it, now with the changes CCP made because the so called elite players of Eve found it so tough and cried about it, me and those same people are unable to defend it.

It is easy enough to understand.

No I can take you to any number of citadels open to the public for solo players to do their research and production and mining complexes that miners can mine at once the moon drills have done thier thing. You don’t need to own one do be able to use or benifit from them.

Nobody bothering to attack it =/= you successfully defending it.

I thought you had blocked me, still you made no comment on my suggestion that while you and others berate people for not being able to defend structures, it is mainly because the mechanics got changed so much in the favour of attackers that we are at the state we are in now. Previously we could defend our structure and it was fun when we had to, because we could be there in our prime playing time.

Now it is too easy, Eve where aggressive PvP is low effort

I can’t help but imagine these people’s ancestors watching down upon them from the heavens, thinking with sunken hearts about how millennia of evolutionary advantages acquired by spearing mammoths, bracing pikes against cavalry charges, and staring down Prussians in muddy war trenches have culminated in patchy-bearded, fedora-wearing nu-males sitting in gaming chairs, and with quivering lips and limp wrists typing out forum posts about “griefers making it impossible to PvE in safe space” and “not being able to defend” themselves in a shooting game that they can only play because their grandpa shoved his body into a Nazi machine-gun nest so that his squad could advance and take a hill.

JFC, kill me now. I don’t want to be here when the aliens invade and start enslaving us, and these people will be giving “now hold on a second, let’s not jump the gun, and give a fair think about the cons and the pros of the Zorgblarian marrow-harvesting machines
” speeches when what’s left of humanity is trying to organize a resistance.

Like you can read posts on these forums, and you’d know exactly who’d choose to remain in the Matrix.

This is literally caused by the opposite of Joe/Anne Six-pack. They’re put up by vets gaming mechanics. For some reason this topic brought out your ire at this by targeting people who aren’t responsible for it and closing the door to them.

But no, I don’t like the op’s proposal either.

To be fair, most people were in the trenches because they were 1) told they had to 2) told the world would end if they didnt.

At least folk today are making the choice to be as they are.

Better or worse.

Not everyone was conscripted. Many of those people were volunteers who weren’t going to let others get away with ■■■■■■■ with their countries (regardless of side).

I didnt say they were.

For the first year.

And just because you volunteer for something doesnt mean you want to, or you know what you are volunteering for.

Or that what you have been told about the sides is true.

“We want 8 and we cant wait”

“Youre not volunteering? Are you a CONCHY???!”

The point is, if those people witnessed their distant offspring complaining about competition in a “child’s game” they’d probably try to take their head off with a saber.

I imagine thats true.

Further I imagine if their ancestors were of the Noble Classes they would most likely say “Zounds” and “Gadzooks” at their lack of responding to having their honour called into question as Men.

Though a sabre is a terrible decapitation tool.

Didn’t stop grandpa from chasing me with one, yelling â€œĐŒĐ”Ń‡, ĐłĐŸĐ»ĐŸĐČу с плДч!” Had a full Cossack uniform and everything.

I turned out fine. I think?

Bring forth the guillotine, much better for making fops a head shorter.

but are they really fedoras?

One of mine was a bit odd
 he flew a Hurricane

Do my eyes deceive me? Someone forgot to “adapt or else”, eh? :smirk:

It sure is fun watching space-“Minecraft” and space-“PUBG” players arguing what is the best for their game while refusing to even acknowlege existence of eachother.

I’m not refusing to acknowledge the existence of anyone. Proof positive I complained about their existence. And before you post something about my complaining, I’m only mentioning it because you assumed I refused to acknowledge the existence of something or someone.

Or else what? I’d like to know what.

While I personally wouldn’t make any suggestions as it wasn’t i who invented this approach, i used to observe many propositions on the forums advising the person in question to relocate their range of habitation to areas better suited for their type of thinking.

Surely it’s just as hard for the deccers to defend their war HQ, only with less allies.

That sounds like another description for cannon fodder, but this time its eager.

What mechanics have changed in favor of attackers, for players who are actually willing to defend their citadel?
