Guaranteed reward for the attackers, Then what do the defenders get out of this?
minus the part that outposts were indestructible, but go off
Well this is a surprise! Nice!
If youāre complaining about how this screws over small groups - Yeah thatās kinda the point. Fixing structure spam means stopping every Tom, Dick and Harry having structures. Maybe you shouldnāt have one either.
Payout for killing structures was something weāve needed for a while and making it an npc order means the payout will always be there. (Or they could be something that reprocesses at 100%).
And creating a situation where you can ambush an onlining structure, itās core, and the hauler carrying it tooā¦cool!
Might it make structures too expensive or rare? Perhaps, but that can be tweaked later. As a concept, this ticks a few boxes.
Well, I think we all knew something in that fashion would come some day. Itās especially true considering how easy upwell structures are easy to anchor and thus spam.
Altough, I do fully support the idea to greatly reduce/limit the amount of structures, I disagree with the choosen solution.
A far superior solution would have been to place a hard-limit of structures (upwell + POCOs) owned by corps/alliances defined by their number of omega players.
Furthermore, the idea let you define a deadline to select how many structures (based on aformentionned hypothetic limits) that can stay safe when the update goes live. Others would automatically go vulnerable, thus achieving the desired effect in the long run.
What bothers me the most is the fact that you guys take a problem YOU created and shove it up in the playerbase courtyard, with extra tweaks that will surely impact everybody. RIP those XL structures in WH spaceā¦
In the meantime, expect structure prices to skyrocket in the upcoming weeks. Also, everybody and their moms will now rush to place structures prior the second phase, thus further increasing your spam problem. Eventually prices will go down as will the demand for structures, but this will take time.
Laughable update at best.
** Appologies for my poor english, as itās not my main language. **
Itās only guaranteed if you donāt fight for it.
So like are the structures gonna get a buff too? or are we just eating the cost of this āUpgradeā with no benefit? Damn near doubling the cost of the structure with no bonus is kinda lame but; It will definately lower structure spamming/griefing
Have you flown around HS lately? Im not seeing this structure spam anymore, just in places where large groups control the high pop systems and public markets.
Since the last patch, CCP incentivized the removal of all the āspace trashā and it happened. All the HS groups that were active have consolidated their assets into an area they can manage and control.
Now that is done, CCP introduces cores to incentivize cleaning up that āspace trashā as well. All that will be left is diplomatically negotiated structure contracts and big dogs running HS markets.
The only feasible thing I see small upstart HS groups being able to do is wallet tank. Have the core farmers come through take your cores and cause them as much headache as possible, then set your stuff back up after they leave.
Im also listening to industrial leaders talking about this reality right now. They feel like all the work and isk they put into their corp/alliance project to start a new player corp that provides content and community in EVE is now having a bullseye placed on all there infrastructure by CCP, and not by engaging your neighbors in the sandbox. They are willing to fight for their place, but there has to be some damage mitigation, which ultimately is just removing the assets until after the blitzkrieg ends.
Exactly this. Well said.
I notice that industry has been cut out of this change. Or did I miss a Quantum Core blueprint mention?
How does not having structures mean you canāt provide content to new players?
Is the new official stance: āSmall groups are not wanted in EVE any longerā? Because the big dogs are easily going to roll over them, and have been incentivized to do so even more. If you want to play EVE, join one of the big null corps or just forget about playing EVE at all?
Read the dev blog in full. Youāll get there.
Youāre suggesting not having structures makes the game impossible to playā¦
I gave up looking for my reply further up the thread, but yes found a good WH exit today. Every system I went through had raitarus and athanors all in my dscan. at least 10 per system. Granted I was within 15 jumps of Jita.
Well in SOV space at least because there are no other stations available.
Keep in mind Iām coming from the ālittle guyā mentality. I moved into WH space early in my EVE career specifically because I wanted to carve out my own space with myself, a couple friends and our alts. But I knew Iād not be able to hold low/null space that small.
And Iām not saying Iām āhappyā about this change. Iām not sure it is going to have the intended effect. I do think CCP screwed up when they released citadels but did not have some way of limiting their numbers (At least anchor to moons or something like the old POS system). So Iām not happy that they are changing the game now. For better or worse citadels have been around long enough I feel they just need to live with their mistakes.
At the same time I donāt have an issue if the 10 man corp who canāt defend their structures, or canāt be profitable to hire a defense, loses. Even if that 10 man corp is mine.
Ok ccp. now where are the small structure for the small and micro corps?
Being a micro corp that live in npc null. We used Diplomacy to survive . we would have huge target on our structure if we still had them. There must be better way to do this that doesnāt screw over the little guys, becuase having assets in other peopleās structures is overly risky but also only one click away from being stuck in asset safety limbo for 20 days with a 15% tax. This is crippling for the small guys. Having a small structure option for small corps, chould allow them chance to access there asset before have it stuck in limbo for 20 days.
Are yāall āsmall corporationsā seriously whining THIS much about just 600m isk? Really?
Im a 1 man corp with a structure, and honestly this is less about the cost (though tripling the cost of a Raitaru from 400M to 1.2b before fitting anything is a bit extreme, or nearly doubling from 800M to 1.4b for an Astrahus) and much more about the giant target it places on any small groups with a structure. 600-800M is a pretty decent payout if you donāt have to put in much effort, just tedium for a bash, which is how it is for most bashes in hisec that see little to no defensive effort. Even for people like me who bother fitting their structures to have a chance at surviving a bash (but rigs, damn those are too expensive, screw those), the kind of bashes that likely await come January are the ones 1-man corps and many other small groups canāt defend against
i think this change wasnt thought out well at all why make it apply retroactively? thats kinda stupid too. it seems like the majority of people dont like this update and i hope ccp realizes that. this is gonna just cause people to leave in frustration and cause smaller corps to just say ā ā ā ā it and leave or join bigger corps which means a bigger consolidation of power. good job ccp.
So, like , .1% of thier SRP wallet?
its multiple things one it now makes smaller corps an even bigger target to bully around. which is just going to lead to the big corps getting bigger cause smaller ones have a big target over their head now. it disrupts balance and favors the more powerful corps and makes null sec and low sec into a even harder place to get into. and will just cause more people to go to high sec. if you dont see the domino effect this is going to cause down the roadā¦
you kids have been crying about this with EVERY change, and yet I havenāt seen any of this kind of end of the world scenarioā¦
