yeah the retroactive part is bs imo. the fix this is for wont be a problem come december once the majority of the spam is already dead. theres no point in making it retroactive at all.
This is violation of EvE gameplay philosophy.
Bro your memory must have holes the size of small moons in it. Setting up a large pos for industry doesnt even cost as much as a fit BUT NOT rigged raitaru.
naaahhh this couldnt possibly happen! not within a few months atleast? who cares about a year down the road right! we only care about quarter to quarter!
Donât forget we had profitable industry out of npc structures before citadels.
Ok, so listening to TiS was your first mistakeâŚ
And right now the big guys are all dealing with one another. By the time they get around to needing these, either theyâll have bought their own, or the little guys will have all realized âthis crap is not worth the extra logistics headacheâ and left anyway.
Besides, the ones the big guys will care about (Sotiyo/Keepstar cores) the little guys wonât even have, because unless you have enough of a supercapital presence to mean PanFam and TEST wonât attack you, you donât have a Keepstar or Sotiyo in the first place. (Imperium doesnât really bother attacking bit players, weâre more interested in the enemies that pose credible threats. Which is⌠yâknow⌠PanFam, at this point.)
Hey CCP, I think catalyst price is to low. Can we get âquantum catalyst coreâ for 10 mil ? or 15 mil ?
I just know the large âD*ckstarâ WH POSâs I used to run probably ran close to a bil when all said and done.
Even now a large Minmatar control tower runs 370mil, thats before mods and defenses. A raitairu runs 486 and can do a crap ton more than the tower ever could.
But raw cost is only one piece of the post. The more important part was all of the other parts to anchoring a HS POS that you donât need for citadels.
I do think this will be the final nail in the coffin of small, casual, indy corporation structures.
If they wanted to prevent spamming they could had gone with âanchor at planets or moons, if refineryâ. It would still encourage blowing up structures to be able to place your own. We see that works with the customs offices now. People are blowing up those so they can place theirs.
Yea well, it doesnât change the argument does it? The big blocs will either just afford them, or steamroll some smaller entities to get some. Or save the ones they get in the war to do exactly what they do now.
Citadel yes vs dick/death star. Compare an industry POS to an industry Raitaru. Large caldari pos you could easily build any kind of ship or module fully bonused. industry Shitadels you have to rig for the same efficiency (which are expensive) and can only do so for 3 ME or TE. Run up the costs of a raitaru + 3 industry rigs, say 1 me 1 te for cruiser and 1 me for adv cruisers. You will find the costs are way different, and in a POS you could just offline adv large ship assembly and online a medium and now you could specialize/build those class of ships. What you could do with a single indutry POS, now requires 3+ rigged raitarus.
Now perhaps that was too friendly/easyâfine. I accepted the changes and moved on, but essentially this forces small/solo industry dudes to either join up with some other nerds to do what could be soloed before, with no risk on bashing corps side, just pure easy profits. What will happen is all of the small indy focused corps will die out. Iâd venture that many will quit. I have other means of making isk, so not a large impact on me, I just feel itâs extremely shortsighted. If CCP wants to combat nullsec shitadel spam, this is not the way to do it.
So.
Love for monument ? or what?
----Quietly taking note of every person that says âIâm a one man corpâŚâ or âweâre a small corpâ-----
Carry on, nothing to see here.
Fair enough, I havenât had the luxury of dipping into industry yet (my son wants to though so I may).
That being said, since the POS system is still alive and well, and clearly far better for industry, why has anyone moved to a raitaru anyway?
the ship assemblies no longer provide bonuses. Not even sure you CAN build ships in the assemblies any longer. And without the bonuses, NPC provide exact same benefit for 0 risk 0 cost.
OK, I kinda remember that happening, so hard to remember everything.
About as clear as mudâŚSummarised as - you need a thing costing X amount that needs to be added to the citadel on itâs anchoring (or to the bay for those already anchored). If destroyed these things are dropped. ???
Yes. ez profit for high sec bashing corp, at 0 risk. May as well save yourself the isk and sink it into something else viable.
Youâve got the idea yeah.
Reduces structure spam. Gives a better reward for killing structures.
