Quantum Cores - Updates begin 8 September

OP
you might be right, or wrong, but as you did not even try to use punctuation, i cannot read your wall of text.
Try again?

Well, seeing as this was posted by a mouth breather (casino war instead of WWB), can you expect much? :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh boo hoo, this doesnā€™t just affect null, and the update actually starts in October. Sept 8 just starts seeding the cores. Null isnā€™t the only thing that matters

Geo +1
and tbh even nullseccers think that small alliances in low sec and hi-sec will be more impacted by this core thing than big nullsec blocks.
and i donā€™t understand why OP is whining, since this change, imo, will have equal impact on both sides of the current nullsec war. I donā€™t see it providing an advantage to one side, soā€¦

You donā€™t actually need them installed in your existing citadels until January. Go fight your little war. Iā€™d bet a quantum core itā€™ll be over by then.

I kinda feel like that inserted bitā€™s important, from what folks are saying.

Leave the RL politics off the EVE forums.

We got that somewhere from CCP? Because that bitā€™s actually not in the devblog or Rattatiā€™s post, that I saw.

Clearly, you havenā€™t been reading, as number of us from Null are saying this wonā€™t achieve CCPā€™s goals, and screws over small folks in highsec.

Relax. Weā€™ve got 4 months. Iā€™m sure by then, TEST will have considered invading, or PanFam will get tired of doing all of TESTā€™s work for them.

well it will sure take down the tatic in null wars of droping 50+ athanorsā€¦ for the target to try to kill before the first 15 min timer/second 15 min timer goes thoughā€¦
since there will be a infinate timer on the backside unless they drop in a core

And now they even rise $ for skill extractors and omega. You really are buttonpushers ccp ā€¦

I had fighters and various missiles in my azbel, i could probably spit for more dmg, just a waste of time really.

What? Omegaā€™s still 500 PLEX, and skill extractors are currently on sale.

EDIT: Oh, you mean the GBR pricingā€¦ yeah, well, thatā€™s what happens when youā€™re buying international products and services with a devalued currency. GG Brexit.

Well 600-800m for a useless item is quite expensive.

Solo - only Step 5 - Keep just enough fuel to maintain shields - makes attacking group wait for invulnerability timers. Remove everything, no fittings, weapons & minimal fuel will deny any loot drop.

If they turn up with just 3 or 4 ships have a max range ecm falcon or scorpion, set-up warp in bookmarks all around the station and jump between them if anything gets near you - BUT - donā€™t do this unless you are confident that you can avoid being tackled as losing a ship will only add to their fun.

Whilst you are waiting for them to arrive on the final bash, fly in as many corvettes as you can and fill 1000 or so freight containers with a single piece of tritainium - This will give them something to do after they blow up your cheap-ass structure [edit - wormholes only]

Well, making the Core Drop chance tried to Security level of the system would make the change better for industrialists without hurting the overall goal of the patch.

Thanks for answering this. Can you ask CCP to add that to the dev blog or something? That point seems to be being missed by quite a few people in this thread in their assumptions and concerns.

Honestly I think the people predicting a High Sec industry apocalypse are over reacting. If a structure is actually being used and fueled, and thus has all its timers, then as far as profit goes theyā€™d be better off doing PvE. Even just doing Incursions in High Sec is going to provide a better return for time spent than bashing down Citadels for hours, let alone doing Null Anoms.

Well, considering the patch wonā€™t actually help the overall goal of the patch, thereā€™s not many changes to it that can hurt that goal, huh?

Well, 2 days in and what can we concludeā€¦

  1. This change wonā€™t do anything to stop structure spam in nullā€¦pretty much every poster who is part of a large group there admits that it will have no impact.

  2. It will shut down structures for a lot of small corps, mostly in hi sec and j-space. And some of those players will leave the game over it (others will not - and no you canā€™t have their stuff).

  3. Prices will deflate (likely dramatically) both because of the one time isk sink and because of the dramatic drop in need for key inputs (minerals for structure building and fuel for structures). This will hurt industrial players even more

  4. Those who have pre-change structures may be able to transfer them profitably, since, once this is in play, those structures will be the only ones that can be in full power mode without cores.

  5. This is unlikely to increase pvp activity much at all since it will be blobs versus small corps and the small corps will just eat the shield timer and then empty the structure, likely not to put it back.

So, once again, CCPā€™s stated objectives will not be met and the lives of a large number of players will be made worse.

Iā€™d really hope they reconsider, but the CSM sees this as no big deal (because it isnā€™t from their POV) and CCP has no idea what they are doing.

The way i see it, I can give my Isk to an NPC Corp grinding missions just to lower costs for that one station that i like, or I can use a Player station that is/ was close and get fees that are lower. Now if that was CCPā€™s goal to return all industry back to the NPC stations or the the TTT stations then just tell us.

CCPā€™s stated goals were to reduce structure spam in null and increase pvp.

Neither of those will happenā€¦

You should probably go back and re-read Brisc and Dunkā€™s statements, as well as Mikeā€™s.
