Quit decade ago, might come back

Ok so… Im here asking if cyno game mechanics are still the same? If i remember correctly? Seems that i’ve left Rorqual in hostile null sec space. A proper ghost ship that is for floating around for a decade. System will have inhabitants and its very likely that the ship was logged off within a pos.

Have a cyno alt prepared but not lit yet.

Login cap, cyno alt sends fleet inv.

Light cyno.

Cap lands from emergency warp. It will most likely bounce from hostile pos?

R-click capacitor → jump to

Is this correct?

I have faint memory that jumping required ship having speed less than 500m/s?

So, hows the game today? Quick peek at the forums tells me that people are still complaining about high sec ganking? Is it any worse than it was like 10-15 years ago?

Rorqual mining still a thing in null sec?

No, but they are still going to complain anyway

Still a thing

One thing i find interesting is that there are questions in your post that i would have already checked before writing it…like scouting the system with a fresh alt or something…if there is a pos there at all and who it belongs to and such things…

Also it is likely that that ship is just stuck in space and unmovable and unjumpable because the fitting layout has changed several times over the years. If you have a module in a low, medium or high slot, that doesn’t exist anymore, then this ship is dead in the water where it logged out.

I don’t know if you can have support check and fix that before you login, but if not, i would say your ship has a high chance of just dying once you login. It will most likely not even come from emergency warp if it is unmovable/warpable, but login where it logged out.

cyno ships have changed too if im not mistaken.. so whatever your cyno ship was, it may not be the same.

Thank you for your responses.

I only know the system via login screen and Evemon. I have no idea where in the system this ship is logged off so scouting won’t matter. There used to be citadel but this ship was not docked for unknown reason.

Being stuck because of slot layout change did not cross my mind. Thank you for point this out.

Yeah, i am aware that ship will probably explode. I don’t know if it has fuel even?

Anyway, a question… Has Rorqual slot layout changed in past 10 years?

I am no active rorqual user, so i don’t have direct knowledge, but AI says it changed in 2016 from a 6 High / 5 Med / 3 Low layout to 8 High / 7 Med / 4 Low.

The role of the rorqual was redefined a few times with different bonuses and new modules. So you will need to learn again what to to with it and you might be missing a few skills.
