We really shouldn’t.
Because it amuses us to see it flounder in a pool of its own inadequacy?
It is very bad for my blood pressure.
All that forum salt that you consume will do that.
Actually, that’s science; look up the word wet in a dictionary.
The sky isn’t blue either.
Water is wet, the sky is blue
Talk about yourself, that is nonsense too.
Happy cake day!
Thanks!
Thank you
Everyone arguing to HTFU etc. have either benefitted from this change or not been negatively impacted. Let’s say that another rule changed that supers were no longer able to be docked in citadels. You have one week to move them or they get ejected into space. Changing the rules is fine. However make a way for it to not ■■■■ on the people who relied on those rules prior to the change. The first wave of abandoned structures should have went to asset safety. PERIOD.
It’s kind of like when you work for a company, say CSX and your retirement plan changes. The people who have been there 20 years are grandfathered in. The changes move forward to new employees.
On a related note, my collection of bookmarks no longer feels safe. If they can cancel asset safety then it seems like they could delete my bookmarks down to some maximum cap, too.
CCP needs to give your stuff back. They screwed up when they introduced a new game mechanic that could potentially have disastrous consequences. Their definition of “abandoned structures” is too broad, by not acknowledging that some structs have been abandoned for quite a while, while others are shutdown because the owner simply hasn’t had time to deal with it recently. Life happens, and CCP should know that as good as anyone. A month grace period would have made sense. At the very least, they could have done the cleanup in phases, starting with those with the longest inactivity.
Any IT person like myself knows that you don’t make changes like this without making sure you can rollback changes if necessary. I bet CCP is the same. They screwed up. They tampered with the mechanics and ended up screwing people unjustly.
Just because there are a bunch of heartless sociopaths playing this game doesn’t give CCP the right to tell players, “just deal with it.” CCP should apologize and give the man his BPs back.
Sounds fine. I’d just make it a month, like the asset safety change. That’s plenty of time for anyone with a supercapital fleet to either react to the change or deserve to lose it.

That’s a stupid comparison. In the real world we care about people getting hurt because it’s actual suffering and loss. EVE is not the real world. EVE is a dystopian world of ruthless competition, and that’s fine because nothing that happens in EVE matters. It’s just a game.
You had a month grace period. CCP is not obligated to coddle lazy players indefinitely.
As for the rest, I’m sure CCP has the ability to roll back the changes. They won’t, because “I don’t like losing stuff” is not the same as “this was unjust”. They gave plenty of warning for anyone who cared about their assets to save them, and they aren’t going to set a precedent of giving people their stuff back just because they whine loudly enough.
If that did not matter nobody would be playing the game.
If Eve does not matter to people, they just get another game. You don’t play MMO for things that don’t matter. You play sandbox MMO to MAKE things matter.
No they don’t - not without rolling everything back, and so making people lose the whole time since the patch. That’s why a GM is required to give you stuff back, he will actually create it again.
No they did not. I received ZERO warning - while I received a lot of adds.
Stop claiming BS.
Funny, I had plenty of warning of the coming storm. All my crap was unanchored and is safely packed away. I was prepared. I feel sorry for the op, but that does not change anything.
Well now we know where they all went.
Nobody cares what you think.
Since I have no idea what that’s supposed to mean, I’ll consider myself lucky.
It means that several people, including me, received literally ZERO warning from CCP about the incoming change.
I just checked my mail and on the contrary of what a liar pretends, CCP did not send “plenty of warnings”, at least not to everybody.
