EVE has alway been about risk vs reward and ever since incursions got introduced highsec is offering too much reward with very little risk. With so much content being available in highsec there is little reason for average player to ever move out of there, even though CCP didn’t design highsec as a place where players wil spend their entire careers (and majority of those who do, get eventually bored of mission/mining/incursion grind and quit, missing much of the game’s content).
Yeah, a ship that’s mainly used in large Fleet battles.
Come to think about it, the other types of content not available to High Sec besides large Fleet battles and piloting / building various Capital ships is level 5 Agents, NPC Officer spawns, Gas processing for Booster Production, using Cyno’s, Bombs, claiming Sov and anchoring Ansiblex class structures.
when level 5 agents came out, you could cycle missions until they spawned 1 in the near by highsec. After 2 years CCP declared it an exploit and restricted lvl 5s to low sec. it went from fleet content to using a carrier to solo it
It was a damn sight harder than what a new player experiences today.
We embraced and overcame the CCP maxim of "Welcome to EVE, here’s a Rubik’s cube, now go feck yourself !”.
Apparently overcoming the, now somewhat watered down, difficulty level of Eve is entirely too much for some, maybe they are lacking in the sack department, maybe society has told them that they’re winners regardless of how bad at something they are.
Nobody knows for certain, but some people just shouldn’t be playing a game with an ethos that they’re unable to comprehend, let alone embrace.
Anyone here know if career agents missions have static systems you need to travel?
I’m doing career agents for galente and there is invasion everywhere. Rookie ships wrecks on almost any gate.
Just to prove this is an empty “but think of the newbros” thread i did a test:
Finished whole SoE epic arc on my amarrian alpha character (1mil sp) in a punisher.
Fought (and killed) Dagan in Manarq that was under Triglavian invasion at the time.
had absolutely no problems doing missions inside invasion systems (Tar)
got more ISK out of travelling through invasion systems than from whole SoE arc altogether because i took my time to loot (player)wrecks on gates
the hardest triglavians ever hit me was 250 shield damage out of 350 (completely untanked) and i was in an (active)armor tanked frigate that warps with a grace of a brick (4s align time).
To me, empty are answers from players with years of gameplay and understanding game mechanics. Comparing themselves to what experience one day old players.
When I wrote post about this I just escaped from gate camp with venture (no tank) with half structure.
lol, your selective quoting in an attempt to portray my actual statement out of context is a fail troll.
Compared to brand new players you have way more experience and knowledge on how to fit ships properly as well as how to engage NPC’s.
Yeah, and the reason I mentioned it is because you made a big point of listing that as one of your test parameters.
Now if that was the case then those NPC’s wouldn’t be making any wrecks on the gates in those systems. More importantly, this thread wouldn’t have been posted.
“you can use self destruct to lose your ship and make a wreck on the gate, therefore self destruct disrupts SoE epic CCPFIX !!”
I think the players should learn to use safe fits, with tank and align, no AP, ASAP, rather than lose everything they had to a nade when landing 8km from jita.
The question is not whether they can kill a newbro - of course they can, just like seekers can kill them if they engage them or rats in the soe can kill newbros who get webbed and don’t realize they can warp off. The question is, can the newbros learn to remain alive, and the test from ms steak was IMO to show that yes they can, in a frigate . Now I’m not sure if a destroyer would be as good, and I think a hauler may die faster, especially bestower/iteron and the like with their 3k ehp.
