Well, maybe Project We’reNotCallingItDust2 will allow for something along those lines (and maybe even a new WiS initiative).
Was it $30 Mil last time when they developed WoD so long and showed so little? What if its really happening again? CCP did not change so much thru that time…
No, that’s definitely not what’s going on now. Remember: that development period for WoD was marked by CCP tasking the WoD team with working on EVE assets instead. That’s why there was never anything to show for it for WoD.
Frankly, if they were doing that again with P: Legion or any of their other projects, we’d see a lot more being made in EVE.
Are you able to disclose what the devs are actually doing?
They were doing side project for VR…
I too think this would be really useful information to have. If you are able.
Which then got spun into a different studio as soon as it reached a point where they needed to devote more than ‘hey, I’ve got some free time’ to it.
Details of roadmap session are not included in the meeting minutes.
Maybe now EVE crew works on EVE Legion?
I wonder how do they work now, one game, two studios, two ceos, two management cultures?
Right now, they likely work like every other IP-owner/Licensee arrangement works.
Page 6 in the CSM link regarding balance thingies just made me sad…
I know right? I am so pissed at Steve for bringing up such a worthless idea. We DO NOT need animated agents!!
Dust 515
Even better: one of CSM was approaching the summit with focus on opportunities (sic!)…it’s just like randomly choosed when in flight to Iceland. This is so bad on so many levels.
Not to even mention there is no such thing as road map didn’t hide behind NDA, the most important part of the summit. CCP promised improvement at this field yet nothing changed.
Balancing instead of real new gameplay is much easier and cheaper for CCP.
Just balance till the end of the world.
Lol
CSM minutes out, PvE session discussed. Key points are discussing stats and drop frequency of Serpentis supercapitals, the issue with NPC miners wiping out belts before players even log in, the lack of visibility of some hints as to where find those miners and the FOBs and how Team Phenomenon also develops tools for other teams to use even if they don’t implement them directly, so the new AI will be used in future mechanics.
In adifferent section, they agree that Resource Wars haven’t worked as expected (shocking, huh?) and are being handed over to the Events team, but no further development will happen on them.
And that’s all matters PvE folks.
No wonder CCP Seagull took her chance to fill the nest, CCP is cessating to be a place worth to put time and effort on it.
I’m glad the “balancing” isn’t being pushed very hard.
in gaming; “balancing” most often means that things get nerfed rather then buffed.
i would like to see more harmony and communication between players - devs - and managanemt.
I’m one of those… Rumors say that I lose more ISK than I gain when running missions due to me getting so many ships blown up by rats because I’m not paying attention. It has sort of become a running joke
That’s to prevent power creep. It’s a rather normal way to balance accepted by most game. The only time where people dislike it is when they are too attached to a particular thing in game.
