Remove abyss timer

Well Mutaplasmids could be considered gambling anyway.

Once you get good at 5s you can pretty easily run them in 15 minutes.

This falls into the ā€œjust one more thingā€ category.
Remove the suspect timer from t4 & t5 sites and more people will do them.
Remove the 20 minuet timer and more people will do them.
Make the rats easier and more people will do them.
Make the drops better and more people will do them.

Then we have stupid easy, poor value, boring sites that arenā€™t worth the time.

I donā€™t want them easier, I like the timer, but the drop rate for mutaplasmid is pretty bad. Combine that with the fact that if your using them rather than selling maybe 1 in 5 are a decent roll.

I donā€™t know that is necessarily a bad thing. One of the best ways to make more isk in eve is to do whatever you were doing faster. If you are doing slow clears you arenā€™t getting as much loot. Trading safety for speed is a pretty common thing in other areas of Eve. The afk VNI is way easier to manage than a super carrier, but the super will make far more isk as it pumps out way more dps clearing sites super fast. A perma tank golem will be slower in missions compared to a blitz mach.

yep, having a high tier site that is super difficult seems like something that should be good for the game. Creates a resource sink, but also encourages players to set goals and skill up. If you donā€™t think you are up to it you can run a lower tier.

t1-2 seemed a little too low rewarding, t3 seems okayish, t4-5 I havenā€™t run but have seen some very nice looking numbers.

You can do the t5 sites easy with only 1 ship and 1 fit ā€¦ it needs to be a bit bling but thats ok ā€¦ most l4 mission ships arelot more expensive then my t5 site gila

No.

The timer is there for a reason, and you are warned of it before going in.

Git gud.

On a personal note, Abyssal sites are boring and mundane, and after running my first T5 in my T2 fit Deimos (no faction, just T2), I decided it was also my last and Abyssal is crap.

Thats only thing, that should be really fixed. Any other suggested fixes will lead to market disbalance (of cause if we can call current state of market as ā€œbalancedā€).

Right now tier 3 has approximately same ISK/hour efficiency as normal L4 security missioning. In high sec. Drop the price of the loot via increase of supply and more PVE players will come back to missioning. So - supply will drop. And we will see price balanced again where it was.

That leads me to conclusion, that there is no need to change anything, that will ruin current isk/hour balance of the abyss sites. But multiply BS happely acting from 30-40 km outside the instance boundary makes brawling fits absolute no go. Which is bad and should be fixed IMHO. That forced me to switch from 450 milions ISK Eagle brawler to one trick pony 750 milions ISK Gila and that is sad. T4 and above spawns simply too many BS to chaise them all deep outside of instance boundaries, if you have only about 6 km optimal. :frowning:

If you remove the timer, these sites will be farmed even more. I think this would be good. There are too many things wrong with Abyssal Deadspace now, so Iā€™m actually okay with opening it up to total farming. Of course you will face a lot of opposition to this here, because most people are highsec dwellers who can finally make the big money in absolute safety.

One remark though: Abyssal Deadspace is not in ISK sink, itā€™s a material sink. The ISK you personally lose, is not lost, but in the pockets of whoever you bought your ship and fittings from. In that sense Abyssal Deadspace functions more like a redistribution of wealth from low SP chars, unexperienced and so on towards faction traders.

Timer is not a bad thing, inability to warp off the site is a bad thing, there is no room to try other tactics, you have to fail.

3 bilion ship and fitting replaced means at least 100 milons ISK left the game because of trade taxes / fees and who knows how much in production fee (depends on where the producer manufacture the ship / modules). So some ISK is left. Even with some isk came back in form of cruiser ship class insurance (not much)

The timer is kinda the only thing making these site ā€œspecialā€.

I vote for keeping it, but I vote for desirable loot and not ā– ā– ā– ā–  picking crap.

He was talking about the sites being ISK sinks and they are not.

Trade is an ISK sink, production too, but these happen before and regardless if one is taking the ship and modules into the Abyss or anywhere else.

Iā€™ve never seen it mentioned, do Abyss losses get insurance payouts?

If so then it makes them the opposite, it would make them ISK wells while also being material sinks.

Cause and conciquencesā€¦ Cause is we need ships. Conciquence - new ship build to replace it. If no ship lost, we will need very few ships to be build because only that many new players need new toys. So I still see the site, that killed the ship as reason for ISK sink, though I understand your arguments and they are valid. Just different point of view.

Yes.

Sure, in that sense every activity that uses anything that has been produced or traded, is giving to motivation to sink ISK into trade or production. In the strict sense, itā€™s not a cause for an ISK sink, but a motivator for the cause to happen. Not sure how the correct English term would be.

Anyhow, I think we both know how it works, I just wanted to make it clear to OP that losing a ship he bought for 3 Billion isnā€™t sinking 3 Billion out of the game, even though it feels like that for him. Btw, Iā€™d be okay for there to be an ISK sink connected to Mutaplasmids (like mutation tax), if they ever decide to increase the droprates.

In Tier 5s I make about 40-60mil in just blue loot alone, so that puts me slightly above 100mil/hr. Iā€™ve found tons of Unstable Mutaplasmids and these things go from everywhere between 25-320mil, not to mention the Disintegrator specialization skill books are easily going for 300mil.

Thereā€™s alot of risk and even more RNG, but man itā€™s paid off big time for me so far. Iā€™ve never made so much outside of daytripping before.

Sounds nice. What ship are you using, please ?

@ISD_Sakimura necrooooooooooo

PS, can we get an achievement for that? (Lol)

Itā€™s the same fit Suitonia posted on reddit a few months back. Itā€™s about 3.4bil, I think? I practiced quite a bit on Sisi before committing on getting it on TQ. Iā€™ve had some close runs, but I havenā€™t crashed and burned in it yet, and Iā€™ve more then gotten back what I spent on it.
