Remove suicide ganking from high sec

No, adding many tools to lure people into a game that’s mainly PvP and $15 a month and letting them think they can play for free while they’re playing a demo all along and that all their efforts are for naught. The Alpha Clone tool to their “business model” is just that, a lure.

If CCP had been honest from the get go and posted on Steam that the game is only to be enjoyed as an Omega account, I don’t think you’d have nearly as many Alpha Clones as you have now, barring the Omega accounts with three, four, five and six alts just to keep up with the ridiculous costs of playing a space sim that doesn’t even respect the rules of space travel.
There’s so much that is wrong with EVE that a en entire book wouldn’t suffice to expose the scheme, you’d need a series of books.

Naaaah, that only makes sense from a moral point of view and business has nothing to do with morals. "When money talks… and all that, but that’s suicide from a business point of view.
They already have about half of the logins they wish they had so can you imagine if they were upfront about Alpha Clones ? The logins would go down to less than a quarter of what they have now.

Let’s face it, Gaming has now become a multi billion dollar industry. Do you think that in that environment the players are first and foremost on their mind? Gimme a break.

That’s like takin’ the lemons outta lemonade I reckon, maybe the sugar?

And people are free to bite or not…problem?

Lots of people enjoy EVE as an ALPHA…there are tons of how-to’s and tips and threads all over the place.

Every account has the ability to play the game (Omega) for free. No idea what you are going on about.

You should look up the word “fictional” in the dictionary.

…and yet here you are…lol…still…

Ok if you want to answer with unrelated rants, we aren’t going to get very far. We will just be talking past each other.

This thread is about suicide ganking. I was replying to your contention that mechanics such as suicide ganking exist to entice players to spend RL money. This is not the case as the game mechanics of EVE are by design from the inception of the game. This predates even the popular concept of F2P as pretty much all MMO’s in the early 2000’s were subscription only. The PVP design also predates PLEX, which was not a part of the game’s launch.

Since taking my one quote out of context, I will have to elaborate. In terms of in game mechanics, CCP has added safeguards, such as the safety button, limited engagements etc. Before that, you could easily and accidentally get yourself concorded due to ingorance of the mechanics. For a limited PVP engagement your option was can flipping.

Sure. But there are still cool things to do as an Alpha. I paid for Omega for a year and have topped all the Alpha skills and have been playing as an Alpha for months now because I didn’t see the point to pay monthly for a game whose Devs keeps changing the rules, mechanics and environment on a whim just to get people to spend more ISK and money.
Most of the time I log in and tour around the galaxy to see what kind of things are going on, mine a bit, manufacture some, move some stuff here and there and transport stuff around for Corps. I don’t get so involved anymore because, you’re right, all the time and efforts put into it get taken or disappear through patches and ganking… really a waste of time to take EVE seriously.

Because of this post I’m going to go suicide gank something. Wish me luck!

Boy! y’all love that word “rant” when you don’t agree. Any other vocabulary word you’re aware of to say " I disagree " ?

Yes, CCP has done some stuff to make sure players don’t rage quit, almost holding the noobs by the hand and that, understandably, annoys the older players.

The problem is, CCP wants EVE to be accessible to everyone with a PC while EVE wasn’t designed for everyone. CCP wants EVE to be the end-all be-all of space games and in the process of doing so they’ve created a huge mess that will take years to sort out… if it’s ever sorted out.

No I use the term RANT when someone takes a quote from my post and then replies with their soapbox reply that has nothing to do with what my quote is even talking about. In fact after 2 interactions you still haven’t actually disagreed with anything I have spoken on.

Yes, here I am. So…? You don’t get to decide what I’ll do, where, when and for what purpose.
You think I’m dumb but the one who wastes his time with dumb people is even dumber.

I tell the guys in my corp all the time, use the right tool for the job. OP doesn’t seem to grasp that a hulk isn’t the right tool for solo mining in gank territory. Instead of complaining, perhaps asking what would be the better fit wouldn’t have gotten him trolled near as much. On a side note though, people here do need to grow the ■■■■ up. This is the most troll heavy forum of all the games I play, which is well over a dozen, come on most of us are well past high school, quit acting like preschoolers

Please, do go on…

I do disagree but I won’t discuss with someone who says I’m ranting when I’m only stating an opinion. I won’t bother.
To me, a rant isn’t something to respond to and yet you do, which tells me you’re not genuine.

Coming from one of the worst, I wonder did you take the bottle out of your mouth before you typed that?

So what’s your advice for an Alpha player who still wants to have fun in EVE ? You keep logging in so you must have some fun in the game.

So let’s see.

You made an argument.

I refuted that argument, using some facts about the game and its history.

You reply, multiple times, not even addressing those points.

In fact those points are exactly the parts of my posts that you left out when you selectively quoted me.

But I’m the one who is not genuine…

It’s almost like he’s trolling people here…weird as he seems sooooo genuine…

Well I’m not sure what part of the steam page isn’t frank enough for you, the advertising for the Omega state or the packs takes like 80% of the steam page.

So basically you just want them to add a statement that says “Be carefull, Alpha clones are limited”?
