Rescue ship

Hi,
I am new to Eve Online. Is there a chance to play with rescue ship? If not, what is the best way to play trading or independent cargo support?

If you mean by “rescue ship” actually going and saving someone in game, you might look into Signal Cartel, https://www.signalcartel.com/, specifically their worm hole rescue division https://evescoutrescue.com/home/.

Signal Cartel’s rescue division actually do rescue stranded players in worm holes. They are a very respected group.

If you are looking for a more general approach, you would be looking at logi ships (healer ships) to train into.

You would have to elaborate on what you mean by rescue ship. I suppose you could repair random ships during duels and battles, but it wont end well for you.

You can play as a trader and hauler, but it’s a slow progression, as it takes money to make money.

As mentioned you could look into being a logi pilot for hire
Make sure they pay you more than your ship+fitting is worth to avoid getting shirked and ensure you will make a profit even if you get killed (logi tends to be target no. 1).

Might be worth to get to know some local small gangs out in local low sec they might be lookign for a logi pilot to go on roams with. Its always nice to have logi. This would take some social engeneering and time investment and need to build mutual trust etc. if you want to remain a freelancer.

Its a very unorthodox approach, but I don’t see why it would be impossible. If somebody wants to take a gang of shield frigs out on roam and nobody wants to be the logi they could hire somebody for like an hour I guess. I could see that be a thing potentially but eve being eve you won’t know till you try.

I’m assuming you’re talking about playing a healer, or logistics pilot.

The incursion community is always in need of healers/logistics ships. They do require T2 Logistics ships, however, so you’ll probably need 2 or 3 months of dedicated training, depending on what skills you already have. Check out WTM if you want to know more. Oh, and you can make good money as a newbro.

If you want to fly logi in PvP, I suggest starting by joining a nullbloc organization with an SRP program. You can spend a fair amount of time waiting for fights and bashing undefended structures, but they’ll reimburse you for your logi ship losses and you’ll still learn a lot. And then you can move on from there if you want.

Funny thing, the most safe situation in EvE is after being podded.
You’re as snug as a bug in a rug in your home station and the hassle is over. So there’s not as much demand for rescue in New Eden as one might suppose to think.
