If you expect perfection and bug-free development and maintenance in the IT and telecommunications environments, especially in the modern day, you’re going to be sadly disappointed and endlessly upset. Unexpected issues arise. Problems occur. It’s just not possible to anticipate every issue before it’s an issue. It’s one thing to be upset-- it’s quite another to be needlessly belligerent, disparaging, and even abusive.

If I produce buggy software do I deserve negative feedback or should I expect to have a group of feetkisser customers who try to suck up to me?
This probably only exists in MMOs.
Customers have an absolute right to complain when they get less than what they paid for. Period. Especially when a long-standing critical feature gets broken.

Do you know what a BUG is?
Their Chat Server is tied to a different part of the game than the rest of the server. They have a dedicated CHAT Server. If there’s an issue there they can fix it without affecting the rest of the game.
Unsub your accounts for a single day issue. That’s smart.

If this were going on for 3-4 days it’d be acceptable.
If you’ve NEVER had a hiccup at work where you work then you should be very happy.
In every job there is something that can go wrong.
In Game Design and Game Development, you can fix one thing and break 100 other things. This is the problem with a perpetual game is things won’t show up like this until the live game.
World of Warcraft had some MAJOR bugs, and it’s still running.

if ccp had taken some time to think this through and considered the Defence of the game from outside intrusions…then sticking the chat server out there to be stomped on should have had red flags all over it.

I’ve been in more than one MMO that has died in part due to people like you hugboxing the devs to the point that they get deluded about the ■■■■ quality of their product.

seems like this started last night american time one of our corp members was having local showing the same pilots in every system for a time, he was in 0.0 somewhere

I’m pretty sure they’re aware it’s broken. Screaming like an infant about it isn’t going to change the situation. Hell, it doesn’t even provide you with any sort of catharsis, given your seeming need to continue screaming like an infant.
I would not argue otherwise, Calennor: When you’re upset you should verbalize it and the how and why. Feedback is invaluable. That said, being unabashedly rude, indignant, and insolent is not necessary and even counterproductive. You make yourself more upset, and you make others upset. It’s a harmful, self-feeding, self-reinforcing cycle of inanity. Mind, the you here is not directed at you specifically.

Catharsis
