I am also very aware of EvE’s in game economy. I could care less about other games.
Think I wrote a thread once about the very thing you seem to be unable to understand.
I believe it was titled “How are minerals not Free?” so many ppl got the answer wrong, and a few got it correct but could not provide the proof to back up their answer.
Here, let’s get some choice quotes from the CSM on reddit!
Yeah, I really think CCP’s listening to the CSM right now. Totally.
Yes, please do tell a director in the largest sov-holding alliance in the game how things work in groups and organizations. That will go well.
No, mineral cost does not have a negligible effect. Mineral scarcity means higher opportunity cost—more time you have to spent going around getting to rocks to mine them, which is time you’re not doing the thing you want the ship for.
And the profit margins on T1 hulls, even battleships, are razor-thin. If you’re just dumping them onto buy orders, you are screwing yourself and everyone who was helping you mine. You can build a Dominix for 10 million… and X number of completely irreplaceable hours of your life.
Wow… just wow. These changes make small industrial corps who don’t want to be part of the big alliances completely pointless.
As a small group, we were already impacted by the resource starvation phases, but at the same time we almost looked forward to what dynamic distribution would bring.
This is just reshuffling rocks into regions - essentially undoing everything you did with hisec moon mining - and making self sufficiency much more difficult.
What will happen to existing ore stocks that we have? I assume they will be hit with the new lower mineral yields. I guess it’s time to dump/reprocess everything before this hits.
I know the usual “waaah stop crying, harden up, adapt etc” responses, but our corp was already in skeleton mode since small industry was hit hard in the last few months. My 4 Omegas are only subbed because I have a bit of plex to use up, but if these are concrete plans, after 7 years of EVE I will put my accounts to sleep and see if things change in the future. I have no doubt my corp mates will do likewise.
This is not because we don’t want to change to “evolving gameplay”, it’s because the annoyance far outweighs the fun at this point.
You’re probably kidding right? As a resident of a wormhole, I am in shock. Not only have you killed the moons, now you are also removing all of the tritanium from their wormhole. Thus, you will turn wormholes into empty pieces of space. Oh yeah, you probably will also ■■■■■■■ cut the loot from the anomalies soon and then the wormholes will die completely. there won’t even be battles, because no one will live there.
The real problem is CCP has been staking the deck in favor of PvPer’s for far too long and since the odds are almost always in their favor, PvP gets boring (What’s a game if you never lose) Realistically, if CCP wants to see of real bloodshed, seriously punish HS PvP (Concord obviously isn’t a deterrent). However if you force PvP into LS, Null and WH space where PvPer’s can’t pick and choose their battles based on near absolute success, that would make it interesting
They could make their servers work at least as well at the did 18 months ago, instead of crapping them up with all sorts of nonsense that’s had server performance taking a massive dump for the last year? 30 people should not generate tidi going through a gate. 2000 people should not push a reinforced node to the point where the server can’t find parts of your ship, and command calls start getting dropped.
Sorry, but you are arguing for the individual…
Where as I am discussing the effects and outcomes of Group play.
I think you and I might be in same book, but not on the same page.
an example: I can use the ship my corpies are producing without helping to produce it…cause we already have several of them. And in turn when they are not mining and building and hauling they can do the same while I am doing those things.
Now if a guy is solo playing, or multiboxing(but still solo playing) to do the things to acquire a ship type instead of doing the things he wants to do with that ship type he/she is trying to acquire…well i guess that individual needs to communicate with his/her organization better.
No, I’m talking about groups. That ship your corpies are producing still requires the investment of their time. It is not free. It is not ‘only’ 10 million ISK. And you are still an idiot.
We know But when somebody is doing a stupid thing one must step out and say this is a stupid thing. They will continue to do stupid things but at least the truth will be on the rightful place.
Oh, that’s as obvious and balls on a tall dog, they are doing what their friends want and they will continue to do so until the RL income drops to a level that pisses off the share holders
ok so as a small industrialist I will be only able to mine for the most basic of ores which will generate less minerals than before and im going to need to mine more of them to make up the reduction? got it. I then need to mine even more of those basic ores to produce minerals that i need to sell to buy the minerals i cant mine? understood, thank you for using lube it is appreciated.
I dont care for pvp, i accept it as part of the game but my interest is in crafting and thats just gotten a lot harder, for players like me, to sustain. So what if i am a carebear high sec miner, it suits what i do in game and in rl.
A lot of those players will drop out of the game and what do you think is going to happen to ship prices/availability when they arent getting manufactured in the numbers they currently are? who do you think will be left to make those ships? the rich, getting richer perhaps?
