Oh, c’mon. You can’t really think either house has a reasonable chance of opposing Khanid long-term, can you? We all know Khanid III is Khanid II, and Khanid IV will be Khanids II & III all over again.
Eventually, he’s going to luck out and get the throne, and then… wow, lookit that, the prohibition against cloning goes away. Oh, it won’t be fast… it’ll even come from the Theology Council, with only his ‘reluctant’ acceptance of their guidance.
This whole thing has illustrated why Sarum and Ardishapur won’t stop him: They play by rules… he doesn’t.
