I haven’t played in 9 years and in a nutshell I don’t remember a thing, like anything. I don’t know where my ships are and I can’t remember how to fly them. I still haven’t logged in.
About all I can remember is that the space may have changed hands (or may not even exist if what I have read is correct) and I might get splattered as soon as I pull out … that’s this game, right?
So if I could get a couple of pointers … probably more like hundreds of them, I’d appreciate it.
Is there still API access and apps for the game? All I got were 404’s when I tried to do a couple of guides, the newest one being a little over 3 years old.
If I recall correctly all I have is a miner and a few ships like the Dominix (spelling?) and whatever was popular pre-2016. I don’t even remember if they were hi sec or low sec.
I’m in an Echelon -I don’t remember even the name of that. I have half a billion in isk and am in 0.4 space … I think I will take out another character and warm up. I have them in .7 and 1.0 space and they look like basic starters anyways that I haven’t used.
I’d suggest to not use your account or character atm, just leave it logged out. Instead create a fresh account and follow the whole starter tutorial and everything related to that. Use that character to get used to the game again, if only because it won’t allow you to make expensive mistakes because you don’t HAVE anything expensive to lose
The tutorial and career agent missions are a decent (re)introduction to the game, allowing you to try out different play styles and give you some starting capital and ships. Creating a fresh character will also drop you into the Rookie Help channel, this is where you can get answers to your questions as it has both newbies as vets who are there to help newbies (mostly anyway, some are there to troll). Even just reading other’s questions and the answers they get will help you learn and refresh your memory.
Don’t rush, take it slow and get comfortable playing again. And perhaps you might even run into different play styles you have not done before.
I already accidentally logged in thinking that clicking on the character might show training etc. and it took me right in.
I can’t do much until I relearn how to play anyway, I have a million skill points to use and I can’t fly ships without Omega it says and I have no clue if there’s another way because it also says I don’t have the skills, for the ships I was flying.
So this is going to take a while and I’ll need to make time for it.
What Aisha said. If your stuff hasn’t gone anywhere in 10 years it won’t go anywhere in a few weeks. Learn specifically about Asset Safety, Freight Hauler Courier Contracts, and game basics before rescuing your old account.
