Returning player 25mil SP, EU time

Heeello, this is me, Ren (… or at least that is my main character)

After a little over 2 year break, it’s time to take up piloting again, but flying in New Eden alone is boring as hell.

Who am I:
Played EVE online for a couple of years, with another longer break in between. First I got into exploration, and this is something I would gladly do in future as well. Later ventured to take part in Faction Warfare, while doing other small-gang schenanigans and causing excessive amounts of lost ISK on all sides. :slight_smile: Currently at about 25mil SP, quite heavily leaning on smaller sized ships (up to cruisers, at least proficiently, some bigger ones as well). I have a lightly trained alt that I use to mainly move my stuff around space (which i seem to have spread all over the place…) I’ve been to WH space while doing exploration, but never lived there. This might be of some interest, as I believe this might add more complex content to the game, idk really. I still feel like I have a lot to learn in EVE, even basic concepts in some areas…

What am I looking for in the future:
An active, mature-ish, preferably already somewhat established group of at least some size (a bunch of four 15-year-old classmates who play in the same band does not qualify… sorry, no offence :slight_smile: )Dank memes and questionable humor are good starting points to any venture.

Most importantly, I’m looking for deeper and grander stuff to do in EVE, not just randomly go full Leeroy Jenkins with no plan in place. I would like to join a group with at least a feel of longer-arching goals and vision - what those are is less relevant. PvP stuff? Sure. WH stuff? Sure. Null-sec? Sure. What is it that you do, and why is that cool? How can I help you with that?

Although I have plenty of time to commit, real life comes first for me. I have a job, bills to pay and quite surprisingly a social life. Also, I have completed my mandatory military service already, so I have very little interest in some wannabe-army-like-pseudo-disciplinary roleplaying/powertripping.

Hey there mate,

I’m a recruiter for The Dark Vanguard, an EUTZ Corp with a strong base in the UK but we are starting to gather more people from all over the EU.

Here in the Vanguard we are part of VINDICTIVE alliance, a nul sec group that owns space in Cache after a campaign to evict its previous tenants.

But more on what we do! The Vanguard prides itself on the “you fly your ship” mentality. Your ability to act independently is valued with us.
Recently our Corp reclaimed the Outer Passage region for Vindictive with a view to install renters. We also do Corp level roams based on Intel, reacting to events happening on the other side of EVE if we have to utilising wormholes.

For the crab inside you that has to fund your pvp ships somehow: We buy exploration, ratting and any pvp loot back at a Corp level.

We also have moons that can make you a fair bit of money if mining is your bag, but I didn’t see you mention that. Still, it’s an option!

Based on what you’ve written here, I think our group might be of interest to you. Some of us have been playing for 10+ years and we’re not going anywhere until the last cyno is lit. Although it once could be said that our peak time was US, eve is a 24 hour game and we have become a 24 hour corp. We have pilots geographically located in US, EU, and AU regions; however, due to things ranging from insomnia to night-shift workers, we have pilots on and active around the clock. Even if there are not many people online at a particular moment, our discord is always active as our primary corp chat because when you join the Voidstalker Heresy, you are joining more than a corporation, you are joining a community. Although some of us my be working asynchronously, we are still working towards the same goals as a team. Hey @Ren_Echelon, when you said you’re looking for a sense of purpose, you had my attention. There are a lot of corps who are really just in it ‘for the dank frags’ or whatever, and that works for them, but I’m like you: I need a mission statement by which I can live or die.

We didn’t found Katothen with a mission, rather we’ve grown into one: defend our home region of Providence from the assault of the Recking Crew, establish our alliance (Total Eclipse.) as a sov holder within the region, and then take the fight to previous attackers. We are, if you like, guardians of our home region, but also guardians of our sister corporation, Lunar Legion, which is more focused on casual and industrial life.

We operate in two distinct modes: home defense, where we operate with the Provi-bloc coalition in medium-scale PvP centered primarily around timers; and offense, which is largely conducted with black ops battleships, strategic cruisers, stealth bombers, and other ships which can take black ops bridges.

We don’t have strict CTAs or demand that people alarm clock (though a lot of us do for the bigger timers in the region) but we look for reasonable levels of activity – if you can only login for 3 hours on Saturday you might find a more suitable home in Lunar Legion — but as you said you have plenty of time to commit, that’s unlikely to be a problem for you. We’re mostly EUTZ with some in US.

Ren, I love your priorities. At Astrotech Syndicate we have similar priorities, with fun and maturity at the top of the list. Hey there, if you’re interested in learning how to PVP effectively in small gangs, Total Mayhem. are a nomadic small gang PVP corp. We don’t hold sov, we prefer to go wherever content is. We don’t PVE and everyone is encouraged to take an active role and FC, drive recruitment etc. We also provide a path into Pandemic Legion who are our only blues, if you like the sound of us, look us up in-game. Fed up with large blobs, blue donuts/balls, and New Eden politics? Don’t wanna spend an hour forming for a mandatory CTA that turns out to be another structure timer? Looking for dank frags instead of dank ticks?

Mea Culpa. is a fairly young EUTZ lowsec corp formed by a few buddies who enjoy killmails and relaxed comms. We’re small gangers with absolutely no intentions of growing into a big blob or building an empire. We have a couple friends but zero blues and we’ll keep it that way.

We’re located at the edge of the southern warzone very close to Geminate, so content is at our doorstep (everybody says that but for us it’s actually true). We fly everything from T1 frigates over T2 battleships to caps. While our killboard looks usually pretty ok, we don’t really care about ISK efficiency or other metrics of eliteness. So if you want to roam your 4b Marauder, that’s more than fine. If you can and want to fly blops that’s also very welcome, especially if can contribute a hunter, too.

We recently started a Channel on Youtube, so you can check out dank image videos there.

What can we offer?

  1. Explosions.
  2. A group that you can call friends and that’s small enough to recognize people on comms by voice.
  3. More explosions.
  4. Citadels with clone bays.
  5. Some moons for ISK printing.
  6. Access to a L5 agent and guidance how to utilize that for more ISK printing.

What should you bring?

  1. A good and somewhat mature attitude. This is by far the most important. Eve is a game and should be fun.
  2. A strong desire to blow up (player-owned and operated) stuff. This is not a PVE corp.
  3. Ability to create your own content. We’re a small group and can’t provide free killmails around the clock.
  4. A good level of skill points. No hard requirement, but we sometimes like to fly fancy stuff.
  5. A second account with useful toons (dread, scout, covert cyno) is not required but a big plus.

Wow. Thanks for all the replies. I’m actually a little taken aback with the amount of reaction. The community is indeed still alive and kicking (which i was hoping for, but… yeah). I’m sure I will come to a conclusion based on these replies. If you don’t receive a reply from me within 48h of this message, consider I have other interests.

There are regular ratting fleets you can join in C5/C6 space or even solo C2/3/4 if you prefer. Apart from ratting we also have a good industrial setup and also some excellent PvP opportunities.
