Hello, one and all,
I have a question for you: do you like suffering?
If yes, then I just might have the perfect idea for you.
Chapter 1: Cerebral Nexus™
What’s this all about then? Well, let me explain.
So, if you ever spent half a year training your character before playing the game, you will have surely asked yourself “hey, is there any way that I can spend even more time and money on my skill queues?”. The answer for the longest time was just training up a different character instead.
But what if you just want to keep on training your favourite skill? This can’t be the answer!
That’s why, with the addition of the Cerebral Nexus™, you will now be able to train clones of your character and then add them to your capsule to gain the extra bonuses granted through their cumulative skills!
The way this works is, that you will train a clone of your character, that starts with no skillpoints whatsoever, and you train them in all the skills that you want. This will work in real time, and only one character at a time.
Then, you can add that character to your capsule, and the skill bonuses will apply cumulative with your existing ones. You will be able to equip up to 10 clones, matching the number of implants that you can have active on your character (you can equip these on all your clones too!).
Now you are probably thinking: This all sounds too good to be true! Surely there must a catch to this!
And you are right! Here is where it gets spicy:
If your capsule should ever explode, then all your clones will be dead and you will have to start the training from the beginning again.
Isn’t that exciting? Balancing great power with great risk! This is what EVE is all about. All of the null-sec alliances will agree (do you wonder why?).
Chapter 2: It gets better!
With the addition of clones and a higher demand of training, then surely there has to be a way to speed up the progress damnit!
And you know what? You are right!
You will be able to purchase skill injectors from the market and the NES store, that you can inject into your clones and gain the skill points as per the usual rules.
However, if you’re not an ISK trillionaire, then all of this will be so expensive, you might as well max out your credit card, sell everything down to your shirt and take loans with no hope of ever paying back, just to keep up!
But worry not, I hear you, and I got a great fix just for you.
In addition to injecting skill injectors, you will now have access to a completely new item, that is called the cerebral smoother.
Here is how it works:
If you destroy someone’s ship, and their capsule remains intact, then you will have to lock the capsule up, prevent it from warping and then activate the cerebral smoother (high power slot module, no size requirements). This will begin a slow process, where all the skill points are syphoned from the capsule until it is drained dry.
To stop any shenanigans with transfering skill points all willy nilly around, there will be a fixed 10:1 (loss to gain!) conversion rate, that means for every 10 skill points stolen, you will only gain 1.
Of course, if the capsule self-detonates, the syphoning will be stopped. This keeps things fair.
Chapter 3: Road to the future
With these exciting changes to PvP and the balance in EVE, there will be many opportunities waiting for the savvy capsuleer! This is exactly what the founding fathers (and mothers) intended when they created EVE Online. Many thanks to my ever trusty source of creativity and inspiration, @DrysonBennington, for drawing my attention to this epicly great idea that I, upon hearing, needed to pen down just to preserve it for all future generations. It is my hope that we expand this idea to not only just include the stealing of skill points, but at later stages also ISK and PLEX itself.
And no, to all the critics, this isn’t illegal, because you don’t own your PLEX, CCP does! Ok, that’s enough of that, I am excited to hear what you all think of this epic proposal. I personally can’t wait until CCP implements this. Gosh, so exciting!!
With smooth regards
-James Fuchs
