it means you wont get banned for peeing in other peoples shoes
that didnât help, but i appreciate the attemptâŚ
We have streamlined our rules from the old forums to give you guys a little more breathing room. Iâm just here to make sure that things donât derail too hard and keep it all balanced. Unless itâs Crime and Punishment and then all bets are off XD
You spelled, âhereâ wrong.
May i post a list of swear words etc., to figure out which are getting censored?
We could make a forum-community event out of it!
So what youâre saying is that moderators will allow C&P to basically be a shithole of unmoderated and derailed threads, trolled by forum alts?
I mean, thatâs what itâs always been. Weâre just continuing the tradition.
whats shes saying is all forum content should just direct to c&p
where people can say waht they want
chan-chan
wouldnât it be easier just to make the whole forum c&p rules?
I beg to differ. C&P used to have actual content with the Pirate Stories thread. There was plenty of trash talk and messing around, but it was always centered around what really brought people there: the in-game content that was worth sharing with others.
Now you have a sub-forum where everyone acts like a pointless jackass and you allow actual threads with content to get derailed without moderation. I like these new forums, but hate that you guys canât properly support the players that tell the stories that draw in your new players youâre after.
If a new person happens to come here instead of Reddit, all your resident autists will scare everyone off. Just a suggestion. Sorry to discuss your moderation.
Is mass flagging of offenders actually happening?
This topic isnât supposed to be about ISD or our moderation methods so I am going to say this last comment and stop all further discussion on the topic.
There is a reason why we have had rules against discussing forum moderation; everyone has their own idea of what is the âcorrectâ way to moderate and thus we really canât make anyone happy on the matter. Either we are too heavy-handed or we donât do enough. We have a set of rules that we follow that have designed to be even-handed and address most scenarios but there will still always be gray area. All I can say is that where I stand, I try and do my best to keep discussions going without stepping on anyoneâs toes.
Also, if you have issues with the way that we moderate these new forums, please feel free to file a ticket.
resident autists
its not my fault i have the mental age of a cat ok
Thank you.
I completely agree with your sentiment. CCP sure seemed proud of the research showing âwhyâ people stayed.
I visited my starter system years ago, during my first few weeks in EVE. There were plenty of players in there successfully baiting noobs into shooting first. Come to think of it, the server populations were much higher then, right? Haha.
Iâve never been back to that system and donât have any reason to return. The Internet is full of seal-clubbers, though.
Just the way we like it, yes.
I was pissed when the new pirate stories thread was liked because some lame â â â â lord shat all over the thread. Rather than fixing the problem the just killed the whole thread.
Putting an indicator is not any of that. Like when EVE Intrdocued around 2004 the message when entering 0.4 systems from 0.5 systems. Then gap between safe and unsafe space. Well, in those days it was. There, did you see some PVP elite players are still confused about what is safe space and what not? Yes there was some skirmishes in high sec but it wasnât large groups roaming and trashing any non-PVP gameplay. I still remember when a .CODE player was permabanned for BOTTING⌠ffs, a botter attacking legit newbro miner/haulers (non-PVPers).
What?
The defining characteristic of a carebear is the desire for risk free gameplay. Miners who whine about gankers in HS, PvPers who never shoot anything that doesnât shoot back, etc. Two sides of the same carebear-y coin.
May I interject?
PvPers who whine about anyone who shoots back, or who avoids a gank through skill
This way you keep it consistent, because youâve started the (too short) list with:
Miners who whine about gankers in HS
This way you give less room for attacks as well, because you avoid the group attribution error, which makes you generalize the few onto the many.
I totally agree with you, btw. Everywhere one looks, throughout every branch of the game, thereâs an easily triggerable carebear waiting to jump out of his hole. Dare I say itâs amazing in its own way.
