I was wondering if there was an option to leave your ship and walk around, either in your ship or at a station somewhere?
There is not. There was an option to leave your ship, sit on a couch and watch TV until very recently (Captain’s Quarters). As far as we know, CCP has no further plans to develop the out-of-pod “gameplay” in EVE.
It was once possible in a very limited way (one room, little to do) but it was discovered to be pointless and most people didn’t use it.
You could always meet up in real life. Leave your ship(House) and walk around, either in your ship(Town) or at a station(Country) somewhere.
