Running for CSM next year:

Good news. We haven’t had this in years.

(We talked about it with CCP, and decided that bringing more members to the summits was more useful than brining them to fanfest. Especially as they’d be lame ducks at that point.)

Explain why you or the other CSM need to be brought anywhere. 21st century, bub. Face to face communication is no longer required.

Looks like you never had a real job where you work together with other people.

CSM isn’t a job, last I checked. There is no need to physically travel to spew words forth, as can be seen right here in this simple communication.

Never told him to plug it in first.

Face to face communication is far better than over the internet. Even video chat. Especially when you have a large number of people dialling in.

I’ve attended the summit virtually, and in person, and in person works far better. You get more done. Of course, I suspect you won’t believe me. But try having a meeting with 20 odd people, with the majority of them not in the same room. It doesn’t work well.

Also I bet a lot of ideas get exchanged after the official meetings over a beer. Such things are often underrated. Humans are a social species. Now try that over Skype…

I’d suggest, Salvos, that you let people know the kinds of thing you believe, other than for the disbandment and/or restriction of perks (I’m interested to know what perks you think there are) for the CSM.

Because you’ve mentioned what would take maybe 30 minutes to explain, maybe another 30 minutes to argue about. Considering that CCP consider the CSM to be useful enough to continue to pay for, I suspect you won’t get a lot of traction.

Hence, you really should give people some kind of idea what else they’re voting for. For the other 99.5% of the time you’d be on the CSM, fulfilling the duties (as you said you would). To fail to ensure that voters know where you stand, suggests you either don’t care about anything else (which would make you a poor CSM) or you think your beliefs would put people off voting for you (which would make you a poor CSM. As you wouldn’t be representing the people who voted for you, except in a very very narrow aspect)

What Steve said.

I can guarantee you that anybody with a platform of “disband the CSM” is not going to be qualified to run.

I just saw this.

If CCP were to entertain the idea of substituting your Omega account for a subscribtion with a clinical psychologist, I might be tempted to vote for you as a CSM candidate. No promises made though.

I read your candidate profile:

"He is, at heart, just the average pilot here in New Eden - one of the nameless, faceless masses of men and women who got addicted to this bloody game and can’t quit it.

If elected to CSM, that’s who he’ll be representing - you. "

PS: You have failed to deliver on asset safety, wardecs, no local and countless of the other “points in your plan”.

PPS: How much money did you spend on your campaign website?

Im sure I can come up with a quaint paragraph or two describing myself IRL and in EVE, general views on EVE, as well as my intent to reduce political influence in CSM, remove CSM perks and work to disband it if that is what the playerbase wants.

Thanks for the unsolicited advice you two, but let me worry about how to get elected.
If I dont get elected, I wouldnt be the first candidate not to be.

The amount of outright trolling in this thread is astounding.
Reveals some posters for whom they are.

I’m still waiting for you to say what perks you believe the csm get.

You are a 5 (or is it 6 now) time CSM.

You tell me what expenses/services you get paid by CCP?

In that entire time, how much value has CCP paid in total to cover your expenses in flights/accomodation/Omega/etc?

Please include the remainder of your term in the figure.

Pathetic and annoying those are the 2 things that define you as a EVE player.I’d rather vote someone’s gila bot for CSM than you

Nie try, but I’m asking you. After all, you’ve already shown you believed something which was untrue. (About fanfest being paid for.)

Just seeing what else there might be. I’m not doing your homework for you

Haters gonna hate.
Trolls gonna troll.
Vote for a gila bot instead then, like you usually do.

And I’m asking YOU, as a 5-6 time and currently serving CSM, how much cost has CCP “comped” for you in total in that time, and for what, and for the remainder of your term?

Is it more or less than $5,000?

Afraid you don’t get to skip answering questions on your own CSM thread.
