Salvage Needs Love

Scannable wrecks are a bad idea though, as this would undermine the game balance of combat probing:

I am not a fan of scannable wrecks.

Player ships are scannable, but can avoid being scanned by keeping their signature size low and sensor strength high.

Scannable wrecks would provide an alternative way to combat probe players and will undermine an existing part of the game that currently is well balanced.

Also, there are plenty of ways to find wrecks already:

• combat probe the person creating the wrecks
• bookmark the sites people are making wrecks in
• combat probe their MTU
• cooperate with others who create wrecks to let them create bookmarks for you to find wrecks
• create your own wrecks

With plenty of alternatives and the potential to destroy a currently functioning combat mechanic, I really don’t think scannable wrecks are a good idea.
