Salvaging Wrecks that are not yours

Could you clarify? Shooting loot cans is one thing. Shooting wrecks (and asteroids :face_with_raised_eyebrow:) is unrelated.

Isn’t that why they created the mechanic where mission objectives teleport into your cargo hold?

If you have to loot a specific mission item from a wreck, but someone comes along and shoots the wreck before you can loot it, your mission objective goes poof and you are stuck until downtime resets the mission - and you have to clear the mission all over again, losing any speed bonus income. Or take a hit to standings by failing the mission to pull another one.

Basically it was a pure griefing action with no functional counter in-game - you could shoot them after the fact, if they suspect flagged, but that wouldn’t restore the destroyed mission item.

Shootings MTUs actually can cause the same problem, yet it only triggers a suspect flag - I find that a silly difference. CCP really needs to fix the broken mission mechanics so that all these items behave in a consistent fashion - that is, shooting MTU or wreck would both cause suspect flag, for destruction of property, without the risk of griefing players via mission objective item destruction, as all mission objective items should deliver to the player who killed the target directly. Third parties can still try to snipe critical kills and ‘ransom’ the loot back in the scenario.

That only happens in certain missions as far as I know. Mainly tutorial and SOE arc ones.

Quite a few regular missions, some L4’s especially, drop loot right into cargo hold of ship. Damsel in distress is one of them. Theres quite a few more.

There is a lot of THIS. Can you be more specific? Is it the shooting wrecks part of the idea of making salvagers suspect or some other portion of this thread?

Oh, I thought it was dumb that Concord would show up if people shot wrecks or asteroids. But that was yesterday. Today I don’t really care. Still dumb, though.

I was at my computer, so doing a quick google wasn’t exactly out of my way (as opposed to wandering around trying to find a dictionary).
Anyway my first quote is from the Cambridge Dictionary site, so…

Again I ask, can you point me to your dictionary source where you got your “Salvage is loot. Period.” definition from.

Or you could simply claim we are all immature because we have a different opinion to you and just pout.

To that point, Ironically I am having fun farming a location that is spamming NPC wrecks with a double salvager probe its hilariously profitable.

But, that might be an exemption not a rule though just saying.

But, it does get a bit infuriating when your sensor gets so cluttered up with wrecks it makes detection of ships via scan really a pain in the backside thrusters.

Then I visit Jita and the whole situation is the reverse extremely unprofitable, because everyone is looking for an excuse to pop you, even though no one is cleaning up their mess. I mean its literally insane what I am seeing over here.

But when I go back to my sector, its going to be highly profitable again. Although not sure if I can work a place like Bei and its Trig Gate Camp.
