That video is pure idiocy. The post needs to be hidden by the community and OP needs to be given 7-day cool-off.
It’s a botched video made by a talentless rookie.
EVE has somewhat of a tradition of roast-videos or posts: of the game, of CCP, and of other players.
People make fun of most game dev leads because at some point, every dev company makes what many in the community believe to be horrible or harmful choices.
I myself often disagree with the decisions and direction that CCP chooses to take EVE in, and/or with the other business decisions/ventures (mostly failures, some limited successes) they embark upon.
That said, AFAIK, Hilmar isn’t a game design guy: he started out as their network/hardware nerd IIRC, then moved up a bit, then became CEO when basically all the other founders bailed to do other stuff. And as CEO he’s been less about EVE game design and more about financial management and some ‘new venture’ stuff, and he’s always been lured by the “next big thing” concepts.
So I agree that the video is basically junk (although I was happy to see some of the old captures in it). Hilmar has done a pretty fair job at what his actual job is (keeping the company up and running). Game design and coding complaints should be directed at those who actually (mis)manage that stuff.
As for blockchain, I’m not a fan either, but that’s not to say there’ll never be a use for it in games. Let the man have his enthusiasm for his techno-toys, there’s worse things to take amusement from.

I also think that Hilmar shouldn’t be attacked that way. It feels underhanded and oportunistic.
What can i say… when you make a mistake im going to call it out because thats the best thing for you and others who are effected. Its called caring and doing the right thing. To not say anything is evil and weak tbh. Maybe there’s a nicer way to say it but CCP doesnt get the message when you are nice.
