I am Sawdeth Ternius, Capsuleer since 16th of October, 2011. Here I am to dedicate my commitment to CSM 21 and not only just to The CSM, I am here for you.
I’ve been a Closed Beta tester to Dust 514 in summer of 2012, participated in The Battle of Caldari Prime Event, risen through the ranks as a Dust Mercenary for 4 whole years. Been a voice for Project Nova at EVE Vegas 2018, twice confirmed attendee at EVE Fanfest 2025-2026, seen the torch passed as we said Goodbye to CCP Games and Hello to Fenris Creations. Now, I request your help in consolidating methods involving the use of Vanguard Mercenaries in possible upcoming operations which could provide useful protection of assets or simple hit and run stuff in Nullsec.
Some of the big names in Nullsec might discredit the use of The Vanguard, here’s pointers why not to underestimate boots on the ground.
- SOV/Interconnectivity: We’ve seen in past patches that corruption/suppression mechanics in Faction Warfare low sec areas have destabilized key combat systems which eventually ended up in a high-sec border system, distant from low-sec combat areas with consequences and caught the industrial side in high-sec off guard. If said were to occur in Nullsec, doesn’t matter which region, involving Skyhooks, IHub’s, etc. If Vanguard ground activity were to disrupt local industry, cyno-jamming, or worse, a plan to defend against as such.
- Third Party Opportunists vs Guerilla Warfare: It’s good to know your neighbors, whether they’re renters or whoever, but what if these “neighbors” were to use The Vanguard to bypass highly sensitive areas such as Capital Fleet yards from an internal source? If chosen as your candidate, make no mistake, I will advocate for each null block with tools and methods to deploy your own Vanguard units to assure your neighbors think twice to mess with your stuff.
- A Industrial Cog must oil The Machine: The Vanguard are not just “Run and Gun” and those who just want to mine stuff. As mentioned at EVE Fanfest 2026 during the Vanguard Keynote, recent space battles yield ship components lost in space could be found on nearby planets not only as “Contraband” it is a way to get some of your stuff back. Without The Vanguard providing your basic Industrial needs far from any known battle, The Machine that provides facilities on your PI Colonies in Nullsec could get rusty, and who wants a rock that claims it’s a diamond in the rough, when it could be just another gimmick?
I’ve seen the disappointing faces after The Vanguard Keynote in person. It is not a sign of doom and gloom, it is an opportunity for you to decide whether or not I am either your saving grace for Nullsec or just another Capsuleer/Vanguard Warclone trying to be known, as your CSM 21 Candidate with 24 years of FPS experience across variations of shooters and a specialist on tactics and prototyping things, ask not what your Frontline Commander can do for you, ask what you can do for bridging the connection between The Vanguard and The Capsuleer.
