Scarcity in the Stars: Capsuleer Day XXII

Not sure what it will ever be used for, but I’ve mined almost 2 million m3 of the event ore just to have it.

Unless you are helping the factions in the drifter wormholes, it really is just an event to complete the track and go on to better stuff. (BTW help out your faction if you care about the lore!)

Thats like 3 times more than needed it seems. Did you get that much in high sec? Which ship and systems? Sharing is caring

Alligator, Gallente Hi-sec. Can easily be done in a HFI or other high tracking BC. Not all the points were in Hi-sec but I completed on the first day with just hi-sec sites and the tourist stuff with a shuttle and blank clone. and have done a few labs in the Drifter holes.

Were low sec sites the majority of your points?

I never mentioned anything about low sec.

Ill take that as a no but that would have explained it since those arent hard to find :slight_smile: Grats

Yeah, but for something as prominent as Capsuleer Day - you’d think they’d have bumped up the number of sites. It’s a pittance…

I watched the server de-spawn 3 sites in high-sec about 20min before downtime and there’s been nothing since. Why isn’t there a permanent Capsuleer Day tab? (if there aren’t any sites it disappears entirely)

I’ll just put it shortly:

This event sucks!

And to put it in more words:

I think it’s the worst capsuleer day event in a long while. Not only are all the SOCT ships hidden under the event track this time - making the prices skyrocket - the event sites are scarce, the drops are awful and just plain doing the sites is tedious and grindy.

CCP didn’t introduce any new mechanics for the basic sites: it’s your regular, years old exploration, mining and combat sites with “smart enemies that warp away and back again so you can’t kite them” -crap. But in addition to those, these combat sites feature the most annoying variant of enemy I’ve seen in a long time in these events. The numbers are low, the bounties are nigh non-existent, and they orbit extremely fast, so no matter what type of fit you use, you’ll feel like you are hitting your head against the wall for no reward. And of course, the final boss enemy drops are awful, unless you get lucky.

The rest of the event and the fight for the wormholes MIGHT be interesting, but apparently the rewards are not worth crap once again… unless you get your hands on those coveted officer modules, out of which a couple are just pure trash for the effort (like the shield multispec that is worse than your regular deadspace ones).

Thanks CCP!

Let’s not forget that for solo players in high-sec, your two choices are:

• Find (yeah, right!) a Reconing Sleeper Reserve, enter (10 pts)
• Mine 7000 Tyranite (20 pts)

Nothing for shooting the site rats… In an hour I managed to accrue a whopping ten (10) points and I think 1m ISK in loot. What fun - what excitement!! I finally found two Tyranite sites but they were both gone by the time I made the one (1) jump, lol. The one I did find later wouldn’t let me warp to it for whatever reason (?)

This event sucks! - you’re right about that - nothing else need be said!

Today I went through 15 systems. I’m not near a trade hub. No competition at all. Zero drifter relic sites so far. Lots of regular pirate data and relics though.

You are forgetting the Sleeper Forge site, and the subsequent chain of tasks off each site that gives you points.
-Enter relic site->hack cans->repeat
-Enter Sleeper forge->kill 6 rats->kill Battleship->repeat
-Mine 7k Tyranite->build stuff->repeat

This is just like any other event, and just like any other event the sites are more as you move away from populated areas, or wait for the initial group of people to complete the event.

Well M8, I guess Gal Space is the HotSpot kinda makes sense as Gal, once again, didn’t get enough for the previous event.

Cause in Min Space. Too many peeps doing the same thing as me. And the combat sites always got someone in them.

Guess I shold goto Gal space if I want to complete this event track

I traveled from Jita to Amarr—45 jumps, mind you—and managed to find a grand total of three sites. Two of them were already picked over and practically done.

Let’s not overcomplicate this: there simply need to be more of these sites. Period.

And there are likely a ton in the Khanid region. following trade routes is not moving away from the beaten path or away from populated areas. As sites get completed, they spawn elsewhere…and tend to pile up in areas of space where people don’t find them.

Out of 37 jumps I found 2 sites today. I’m out in the boonies. I have no competition at all. This is not like other events. There simply aren’t enough spawning. I’ve had events where I’m actively competing against people. The DSCAN full of probes and I’m still able to at least see the sites are spawning at an adequate rate. I’m not even seeing red X’s disappear (why would I? there are no other probes out), which could hint at someone getting to a site first. In this case they just aren’t spawning enough. It’s mostly generic data and relic sites spawning.

Don’t get me wrong, there were okay days and bad days. At this time, it feels like the rate dropped after the 5 Omega days would have ran out for alphas. And it wasn’t all that many, relatively speaking, even before today.

It’s the most frequented route in the game, what did you expect? As a counterpoint, I’m already done with the track casually flying around the less visited parts of Amarr and Minmatar space and picking up Deepflow Rifts and Ghost Sites and any Reckoning: Sleeper Reserve or Reckoning: Drifter Stockpile sites I came across. The event sites aren’t particularly rare.

Bullarky

Oh really? That’s adorable. I’ve jumped through hundreds of systems in every direction like a maniac chasing ghost signals, and guess what? Still no CDXXII sites. Nada. Zilch. Just empty space and shattered dreams.

I’ve been around longer than most capsuleers in this game — I know what a normal site distribution looks like. This ain’t it. So, unless you’ve got a secret map or a dev living in your cargo hold, I’m gonna go ahead and call BS.

I’ve been doing the relics/mining/production in HighSec and I’m almost finished with the event. Didn’t have issues finding or completing sites even during the weekend, as relics disappear from the anomalies window after the first hacked can. I’ve had another player entering with me only once, we each did two cans and no griefing. I mention that specifically, because as a new player I had way worse experience with the winter event.

I like jumping around, so maybe people who stay in one place have trouble finding them? The sites do tend to cluster in out of the way pockets. I’ve frequently scanned 1-2 event combat sites in the system where I’m doing the relics. No sites on the trade routes, but I’ve come across pockets around the noob systems, which is nice.

The only issue I encountered is that the tasks don’t autocomplete and I sometimes forget to click and miss points, but that’s on me not paying attention, not an event problem. They are not great isk-wise, but stuff in High Sec seldom is :slight_smile:

And I’m editing myself - they really do cluster, as the system I’m in had one Sleeper Forge and 2 more Forges just appeared.

Don’t know what to tell you man, this is right now two jumps from Hek, they’re not that rare.
