I’ve met people unironically like this. I get why it’s easy to paint people with a broad brush with this attitude, but it’s stereotyping. Whenever you feel like giving up the stereotype and engaging with the people you’re talking to, myself and others are here.
I’m not a ganker. I’m a guy with the opinion that “New Eden isn’t a dangerous universe, and it should be”. That’s my bias, so it isn’t surprising I’m against changes that on the whole IMO don’t do much to add danger and just add more mechanics to make low-sec-status folks (recall: this also includes Lowsec pirates, not just gankers) that much more elbows-and-knees.
It might seem strange that I speak up for gankers, then, when I quite frankly am not one of them and not interested in their playstyle. I am speaking up because I want to avoid the continual trend of the last 10 years.
At first they came for the high sec NPC corp friendly-firing pirates, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a high sec NPC corp friendly-firing pirate.
Then they went after the high sec wardeccers, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a high sec wardeccer.
They went after the high sec can flippers, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a high sec can flipper.
They went after the player bounty hunters, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a player bounty hunter.
When they come after me in Lowsec, there won’t be anyone left to speak up for me.
There’ll just be people like you telling us to “HTFU” and harvesting salt and celebrating the end of toxicity in Eve Online.
