Security status effects tethering

And EVE has always been about shooting each other. You want safe PvE? Fire up OSI UO and live in Trammel

It is tho because this isn’t a PvE only game or even a PvE centric game.

And there are those out there. So go play those games

You can also gank people in Dark Souls

Wut. Peeps invade and kill weaker peeps all the time.

I just know you’ve never played DS

So then counter it. Demonstrate how it’s possible to counter ganking. Gankers tend to talk a lot about how they say it’s easy to counter but when you actually see it in practice the most someone trying to counter it can do is make it cost a little more. Since it’s already cheap, that’s not a problem.

Please stop telling people to leave. I’m happy playing EVE and giving feedback to developers on what they can improve in my view. It’s not your game, so you don’t get to decide which opinion is worth listening to.

Don’t go afk is the 1st step.

I wonder why people don’t go barging into other MMOs demanding no safe zones and PvP to be enabled everywhere. Seems only fair, maybe because that crowd is satisfied with the two remaining MMOs that are like that, and don’t want it to change.

Feel free to do so.

Hey hey HEY!

@Defi_Natalie_NotAnAlt Leave my post alone! It was just @Destiny_Corrupted and me having a moment!

I don’t know how you can say that with a straight face.

It’s easy. Set gankers to bad standing. Keep an eye on Local to see who arrives. Watch out for ganker scouts who may provide a ā€˜warp in’ for the gankers. Mine above the asteroid belt so the asteroids dont get in the way if you have to warp off. Preferably have your escape station much closer than the distance to any gates the gankers may warp in via. And stay alert…not watching Netflix !

If I can mine for a whole year without being ganked…anyone can !

But that would take effort.

It is like asking how you can play chess without risking losing. The miners, autopiloters, etc aren’t asking how to win, they are asking how to avoid all interaction.

That’s not countering, that’s avoiding. It’s negative gameplay. And if you have to operate in a given area, or if gankers follow you about it’s perpetual denial of content because there is no actual counter.

Ah…so you are an alt of Lucas.

And no, I do not intend to get bogged down in such utterly brainless semantics.

No, I’m not. It’s possible for two people to hold the same view and not be the same person. Are you Aiko? You share views don’t you?

It’s not semantics, a counter means you can actually counter the play. What you’re talking about is the ability to run away before it affects you, and that only works if the ganker then immediately gives up.

Oh come off it. Who do you think you are kidding ? For someone who ā€˜isn’t Lucas’…you use exactly the same terminology even down to the same words and expressions used…when making exactly the same arguments and make exactly the same ad hominems about people being puppets to Aiko.

Maybe I should get a dozen alts to come here and support me too.

Then he’s probably British. Ganking having no counter, only avoidance, was something that was on a podcast a few weeks back. I’m not going to get dragged into an argument about it.

On topic, these changes are a positive change for the game but more changes are needed. Ganking is bad for the game.

Avoiding is a counter. Just mine more than 2 jumps from Jita.

Defi Natalie Not Lucas. Lucas would have said gankers are bad for the game. Isn’t that right, Boo?

Ganking is the game. Highsec PvP has been part of the game for years and years. It is the entire basis of ā€˜don’t undock in a ship you cannot afford to lose’…in a universe where nobody is safe anywhere in space. I’ve no idea what bizarre game you are on about…but it sure as hell isn’t Eve.

And if CCP ever intend to alter Eve to your loony version then they should let me know so I can un-subscribe and not waste my time. I thought I was joining the toughest MMO in existence…not Carebears In Space !
