True. No idea why people choose to play a game whose rules they can’t handle LOL.
I don’t get it either. Especially when there are so many games out there to play.
Yet they devote their time to bring EvE down and burn it.
All I can say, that’s one hell of a bone to pick, over a video game.
It isn’t about Eve. He has said so himself. He doesn’t like that people have fun playing Eve, so he wants the game to be shut down so they cannot play it that way.
The changes are excellent. New players will enjoy their revamped playground and when they are ready to go, they will purchase Omega and join in on the fun that the rest of New Eden has to offer.
Ganking with still be there, but there shall be a stiffer penalty.
Good prosperity to you all and happy holidays.
The changes are not excellent. The folks who were still suicide ganking in 2022 fit into two basic categories:
-
People who repaired their security status with tags. They are unaffected by the changes.
-
People who have been ganking as -10 characters for years and have already adapted to a whole plethora of nerfs to their playstyle. These folks are inconvenienced by the changes, but are already accustomed to adapting to inconveniences and will take this one in stride as well. They are unlikely to slow down their ganking.
Mainly, these changes are a nerf to lowsec PvP, not ganking. I can give CCP the benefit of the doubt and believe that they intended this to affect gankers and that the consequences to lowsec PvPers were perhaps unintended.
However, there’s a nagging feeling that CCP is trying to push lowsec PvP in a direction where everyone is in a lore driven NPC militia faction with defined rules of engagement and developer-driven objectives, rather than in independent player corporations following their own agendas. Perhaps these punitive changes against non-FW lowsec PvPers are a part of the pressure they are applying to push the community in that direction.
I’ve also noticed other subtle changes that hint at this agenda. For example, in the in-game recruitment advert system, there is no longer an option to search for pirate corporations. I feel certain that it used to be there.
Probably just my paranoia talking, I don’t know. But it kind of sucks that I have been banished from highsec. Makes logistics a bit tedious.
No you are correct sadly.
For all of 5 minutes. And then they will get bored. What are they mining for ? What are they hauling for ? Does anyone really join Eve just to mine and get a big pile of ISK ? I’ve never seen Eve advertised purely as a mining simulator.
The apex of Eve is a combat simulator that is all about risk. The more you eliminate the risk…the more you turn Eve into a place where all those noobs may survive their first weeks but thereafter are just gonna think ‘heck…this is boring !’
I been mining a lot this week cause I’ve been working on several projects.
No ebil gwankers have killed me.
Not even the dude who said he would
Common man, we all know you are lying and spreading pro-ganking propaganda.
The truth, that gankers like you are really trying to hide, is that every time a player mines in high sec, they immediately get ganked. Within minutes of undocking. It’s very vicious, toxic, and kills the noob player-base.
Heh so true. I was the only one in system for like 3 hours :D.
I’m sure those ebil gwankers were just using the local hack that Drac provided such proof for.
Oh wait.
EVE is not a “combat simulator”. That explains why your views are so biased towards everything being about combat though. None of the recent changes turn EVE into a mining simulator.
What’s weird is you constantly tell us how you mine and haul and never get ganked. So if doing all of that without getting ganked is so boring, why are you not bored?
Cause she’s full of it.
I had a totally noob account mining down near Amarr in 0.6 space. Never once saw a ganker…or in fact anyone at all in the same belt. But the NPC rats were a real pain and only serve to confirm for me what killboard shows…that most noob miners are destroyed by belt rats and not by gankers.
What ? And miss out on the chance to demonstrate that people like you are talking a load of twaddle ?
Uh, no.
Those were gankers. Disguised as NPC.
Gankers are in every high sec system. They wait patiently for miners to harass and blow up.
EvE should be fixed and gankers should be charged with RL criminal conduct for the emotional trauma they cause to well adjusted people.
Realistically I’d say from experience that at any one time gankers are there in force ( rather that just the odd ganker passing by ) in less than 1% of Eve highsec systems. I could provide a list of a dozen systems where I can ( and do ) mine quite safely and see a ganker in Local once in a blue moon. The ganker threat is ridiculously over-played.
Oh…and at Jita 2 days ago I passed non other than yourself while transporting 100m worth of Mega Pulse Laser II.
100 million isk! gasp!
Stop spreading misinformation:
They are in every -and I mean every- single high sec system. Even the ones that show no one in local, they are exploiting a glitch that hides them.
And the second a miner shows up. POW!
Criminalize Ganking Now!
I don’t think a single person has claimed that gankers are in every single system. Just that they are common enough and target new players enough to have a negative impact on retention.
Indeed, I am sure it is only my fearsome scarf that kept them at bay. For 6 hours
