Oh but they have. I responded only a week or two ago to someone claiming that gankers were everywhere. I recall when I was a noob, I used to think gankers were everywhere…it is an easy misconception for noobs to make. But experience has taught me the extent of ganking in Eve is quite limited. Uedama, Isanamo, Abhazon, Jita…and a few surrounding systems…make up the bulk of Eve ganking. There are huge areas where a person can mine, for example, and never see a ganker.
Oh…how convenient for your cause. No actual data supplied. In fact the number of noobs ganked is small. I regularly see all the kills posted in the ganker channel…they are mostly barges, higher value combat ships, haulers with expensive cargo, etc. But I realise you are not, and never have been, interested in actual facts.
It is ! So I’m gonna spend the rest of the day fighting Super Mutants, Gouls, Raiders, etc in Fallout 4. ‘Easy’ level is actually quite hard, so I’m gonna whine to Bethesda that Super Mutants ought to be replaced with Teletubbies who hand out flowers. I mean…games gotta keep up with the times !
Yes. As always with nerfs to ganking, some gankers simply came to the conclusion that this game is no longer worth it.
Additionally, some of the gankers were F1 monkey alphas with single account, be it on purpose because they refused to pay for this game anymore or because they were new into this (not neccessarily new players) and was trying it when they perhaps were bored in nullsec/wh and majority of them quit as well instead of subbing (that account).
So there are less gankers than before. So yes highsec is totally safe, time to autopilot with 20b+ cargo ecpander Freighters!
It will have removed a few gankers who were Alpha account only. And there is a point to be made that someone with nothing but freebie accounts should not be ganking newer players who are paying for the game. Of course….we have no idea who is really even new, let alone who is paying. It’s not like people fly around with a big ’ I am a genuine 2 week old Omega noob’ above them.
What’s wrong with someone rolling with the punches, and showing persistence and adaptation, in spite of artificial, arbitrary developer-created adversity?
You should appreciate their dedication to their playstyle.
FYI, I’d have 0 ganks these last couple months, if people simply watched local and warped out when I jump into system. But no, we need increasingly complex and convoluted “solutions” to protect people who can’t be bothered to watch their screen while they play.
