Separate Space for Newbies?

Theyll have to leave after 30 days if they want to experience the rest of the game. You have nothing to fear.

If they dont leave then boredom will result in them exiting the game permanently.

And if they just don’t and continue to play in Exordium? After 30 days? After 60 days? After 90 days? …ignoring the popup that demands not using the resources in Exordium after you are older than 30 days?

What are you talking about?

This:

Or this:

? Those are two very different cases. About which one are you still confused?

After 30 days you become a veteran and are forbidden from farming in Exordium. A popup will remind you to not farm in Exordium or leave the area if you need to do farming.

Correct.

Correct.

This:

These rules will get updated and include veteran farming in Exordium as a form of griefing:

What happens probably depends on how bad the behaviour was.

Breaking the rules on Rookie Griefing ranges from GM having a chat with you, to giving a warning to you, to a temporary or even permanent ban if the behaviour was reoccurring or bad enough.

None, it’s just for fun.

EVE needs more fun meme’s I think.

Dude, if you really want to mine there, then contact a GM personally and ask if you could mine just before the downtime, if there were still plenty of rocks available. Because rocks do re-spawn after DT right? You wouldn’t really be harming or griefing anything. I doubt that CCP wants to ban paying customers for something as insignificant and GMs aren’t dumb either. Cheers.

I don’t want to mine in Exordium. I want to get clearly communicated rules that leave no space for interpretation by someone after you did something. Otherwise we will have all kinds of things happening.
Different people will then judge you different and some might even banhammer you.

There have been countless precedents over the years in which situations got judged and handled different depending on whom you had the luck your support ticket was handed or your incident was reported to.

Well, that’s not happening. Obviously.

For example, I bet that there are plenty of newbies who technically were griefed as per EULA, while participating in EVE University fleets. Now what?

The thing is, that most people have common sense and CCP isn’t going to write a rule for every situation or exception. Rules are kept vague on purpose.

Edit, this is against the rules: One could definitely do what I suggested before (mine before DT) and be just fine, but I doubt that CCP is going to explicitly give a green light to that even if such behaviour is harmless.

Again, ask a GM. Use common sense. Don’t do something if you’re not sure about it. Or assume that any farming in Exordium past 30 days will lead to a “disciplinary action”, because that’s what was communicated officially.

See, i don’t want to risk my account. I have played EVE since the beta. So i am not going to mine in Exordium because there is too much at stake for me if there is any chance to get banned.

However other people could just ignore everything and don’t care and start exploiting Exordium and CCP while officially saying it is forbidden will not sanction it.

That is an unbearable situation for me, as i have much to lose and they don’t and can exploit it. If it is not sanctioned then they can profit while for me it still is too much of a risk since tomorrow a GM could wakeup an decide to throw the banhammer around.

That’s why i will at least look what is happening there and report if something fishy is going on, because i can not do much more than to ask for equal opportunities for everyone.

The whole setup with vague rules is unfair for people playing and paying for the game.

Jeez man, give it a rest, please.

NGL, this is kind of unhinged. There’s a saying, “Comparison is the thief of joy.” You might want to consider that. Just a suggestion.

Normal gameplay situations are quite different from the described situation and not comparable.

The prognostication you keep repeating is getting old. You just cant help yourself can you…for even one day you cant help to become the debbie downer just for the spite of it.

So thats the issue…youre paranoid now. Even after the rules have been posted…albeit as plain as they are…you still want to make it all complicated and you want somebody to split hairs to you about it and spell it word for word for word.

Paranoia again. They have pills for that.

Your preemptive nonsense once again doesnt carry much merit right now. If youre not there mining, then what are you worrying about.

What about all the other shenanigans going on about this game. What about all that botting and stuff other people are complaining about…why arent you equally focused on that and so many of the other issues that this forum is filled with. Are you giving all that the much needed attention as you are this? You seemed to be really involved with this whole exordium thing to the point of having a dry throat and sleepless nights.

You are in the minority with this foolishness. Besides all the rants about the safety aspect of it, i think i can count maybe two people complaining about this to this high of a degree…and one of them is you.

Exploit it how? Describe a scenario, because I am pretty sure the math just isn’t mathing on this.

What do you mean by this? Do you think that you’re loosing out on ISK? Do you think that some people will bling out their mining ships and the amount they mine in Exordium is going to surpass what’s safely achievable in high-sec?

I really doubt that. But I’m not a miner, so I have little interest in playing with fittings to see if blinged venture can make up for the fact that ore in Exordium brings in only half of the mineral amount. You’re not losing anything here, lol.

One area where EVE shines is the beautiful balance of risk vs reward. Biger risk = bigger rewards, and almost all the time the higher risk option is actually the optimal/correct option. I doubt that Exordium changes anything in this equation.

It’s not really about what they are or are not losing, its about other people (new players) making anything at all.

He doesnt appear to like that idea so he builds strawmen that dance around what he’s really getting at. So he’s appointed himself as sheriff of exordium and will report everyone that is over 30 days old that do anything there. So, on day 31, new players can expect sheriff armor to try as hard as he can to get them banned.

I am equally focused against all illegal gameplay, however you are the one making a difference between botting and eploitative farming…i wonder just why?
