Right now, daily downtime hits during AUTZ at around 10pm AEST.
Could downtime please be shifted forward by one hour per week.
Share the love and glory of downtime among all TZs instead of just AUTZ and CNTZ bearing the whole brunt during their prime time.
As an added bonus, it will make scheduling vulnerability timers for the major blocs a bit more spicy.

Since they implement updates for hard- and software during the downtime, this will probably not be practical. They need the maximum of available technicians and devs during that downtime, either for implementing changes or support in case something unexpected happens. And since the servers are located in London, around noon in the EUTZ provides maximum coverage there.

At one point they were working towards a “forever Tranquility”, aka: no daily downtime. I wonder if that’s still something they’re actively working on…
Why shift the DT away from a time when you are going to bed soon anyway? This would just rip through EUTZ afternoons.
The Reality is, because Eve is world wide, there is no “good” time for every time zone. A good timezone for USTZ would be Restrictive in other zones, so the next logical course of action is to execute it when it most convenient for the techs managing the servers, which is late morning GMT.

DT used to be 4pm in US cst… now it’s like 5am? If they bumped it up an hour… I might go to bed a bit early for easier travel, but mostly I see systems populated within a few minutes anyway, I don’t think it really matters… it’s not like its down for more the 1-2 minutes anyway. (just don’t be hauling to Jita or in the middle of pve/pvp)
This is a non-saying-it way of saying you want the devs to work nonstandard hours.
Which I imagine several probably would… if the price was right.
During CCP work hours and when the global population of the game is at it’s lowest sounds like the best time for downtime to me.

I vote on downtime at 5am no matter the time zone, that way everyone will be happy.

have you any idea how many kills i’ve missed because DT hit before I could break 'em… 
Poor you. Hint: happens for all of us, since ppl are using downtime-tanking from day one. I would love to play without DT too, but thats simply not possible, unless CCP hires at least 2x the technicians and let them work in shifts around the clock in London to do the update implementation and server maintenance round the clock.
Not much they can really do about that imho.

They tried the no-downtime thing before and it didn’t turn out well. It screwed with missions, ore belts wouldn’t respawn, COSMOS sites wouldn’t reset, and a number of other issues.
Because those are all tied to the daily reset. The tests were for them to figure out how to reset like the belts.
You suck so much you couldn’t kill someone fast enough that downtime happened before you could kill them? HA! nooob!
