Ok reported for harassment.

For what? You wanted a PvE server?

Stardew is def that

I am not sure how can they bring authentic EVE Online experience without non-consensual pvp in highsec though…

This song is about typical toxicity, he drops on innocent players with overwheming force and even brags about it.

This is what I call no toxicity:

I thought the PvE server is called EVE Echoes. :stuck_out_tongue:

I prefer Stay Aligned.

Its about being about as much use in PvP as I am

Why would they be innocent?

And even if so, once they undocked they consented to that PvP ROFL.

I like how in all of these threads, like this one and the ganking megathread for example, there’s always a couple of dumbshit ■■■■■■■ boomers going around and victim-blaming law-abiding players and community members. In their minds, explicitly-allowed PvP gameplay acts as “consent” for explicitly-forbidden verbal abuse, like threats of violence, rape, and murder.

These geriatrics are so out of touch with society and reality, that they can’t even attempt to mentally process the implications of their own words. They are of course the same people who come home to their low-budget divorcees’ one-bedroom apartments after a rough day of rubber-stamping insurance claims at their dead-end jobs, and instantly hop on Reddit to voice their valuable opinions about the latest rape-related news report by informing us that the woman “deserved it” because she made the “conscious decision” to jog in a park while wearing yoga pants and a tank-top. The “thots” invite this sort of behavior by being so promiscuous in public, so of course it’s “their fault” when they get assaulted. Just like the “griefer scumbags” invite this sort of behavior by engaging in a disagreeable play style. Very easy to see with whom the fault lies, clearly.

Thank you, Destiny, for reminding us all that angry diatribes filled with hateful invective, personal insults, crossing the line between game and RL, and throwing in sexual assault for additional emotional impact, can occur anywhere.

Even in the midst of reasonable discussions.

There’s a difference between responding with anger and frustration when someone gets blown up, and going off the rails into RL abuse and threats.

One you shrug off because that what happens when you blow people up. The other you report because it’s against EULA and TOS. CCP already has policies in place for dealing with this.

At any rate, the topic is whether blowing up spaceships is “toxic behavior” or simply a game mechanic that everyone should accept as “just part of the game”.

This is one of the reasons for not having too strict a response to angry outbursts. Because for some types of EVE PvPers, the sweetest tears of all would be to blow someone up and provoke them into a rage, then get them banned for being toxic. This would guaranteed be abused and so needs a lot of GM judgement to determine what needs to be dealt with officially and what gets a warning to keep it within reason.

On a slightly different note, the thread topic brings up “toxic” reports but posters are using toxic pretty loosely. For a lot of posters, “toxic” simply appears to mean “behavior I’d rather not see during my game time”.

From my point of view, the most ‘toxic’ behavior of all is that which drives other players away from participating in the game. Player numbers are getting down to the point where EVE and CCP really can’t afford to just casually dismiss driving thousands of players a year away as insignificant.

Over the years, I’ve noted that while the carebears whine, and the grindbears demand more ISK, and the nullbots want more exploitable content… there is only one group that consistently, again and again, says “If you aren’t agreeing to be my content then you shouldn’t be here. EVE is not for you, go away, you’re in the wrong game, go back to WoT or Candy Crush.”

One group that works hard to drive other players out of the game and out of the forums.

I believe that PvP is part of the game and in most cases, getting blown up is just part of regular game play. Sure the mechanics could be and should be better to encourage healthier types of PvP, but that’s up to CCP.

From the player’s perspective, the most toxic thing there is with the worst long-term consequences is this attitude of certain players that “if you’re not playing EVE the way I want you to, you need to leave.”

I’ve been watching this for a couple of days, and I’ve come to the conclusion that the only person harassing other players here is you.

Reporting people because they have a different opinion than you is really toxic and I hope ISD eventually bans your account for this behavior.

People get blown up ? In a space-blowy-uppy-things space game designed for blowing things up ? Nooo ! Tell me it ain’t so ! It’s really a mistake by the devs who actually intended us all to sit around the space fire with the Soup Dragon and the Clangers and eat marshmallow pie laced with veldspar while singing Kumbaya.

So much vitriole … can you tone it down just a notch ? Pretty please ??

Throwing another stick in the hen house ? Naughty naughty (and against forum rules)

You want these forums to be wilder than they already are ? Not sure if that is wise. At most a poll would do that job, without all the ruccus.

If it’s unsubstantiated and speculative, and controversial to say the least, then it’s inciting forum unrest, more flagging, more pissed off moderators, and indeed, rumor mongering.
I’ve never reported any forum user. I don’t even remember if I ever flagged one of your posts - I communicate with you openly and publicly.

Nope, that is not me.
