Shooting player’s spaceships in EvE is not toxic behavior

Just change ‘free’ to ‘true’

That’s better  Blackflag might take an interest :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah, that’s where I’ve seen you.

Yes, I’ve seen you lurking around suspiciously in Isinokka

Heaven only knows what sort shenanigans I’m getting into…

Sigh. Yennoe sometimes I’m think I’m good at something. But then someone comes along and shows me their better LOL.

My guy, why lie?

You know I’ve said it isn’t the best game ever. But you cannot deny it did affect the gaming meta, including EVE. I actually don’t think it was in a good way to be honest.

But it showed game companies how to make more of that money so here we are.

I really don’t get why you’re so fixated on Fortnite tho. Its not even the best BR. I’d say Apex is definitely the best BR out there right now.

IF we could stop acting like overgrown children and get back on topic for a few minutes…

Shooting spaceships in EVE is not toxic behavior in and of itself. It’s part of the game.

It is possible however to shoot spaceships or loot spaceships or boot spaceships in a toxic manner.

Matters of griefing and bans for toxicity are best left in the hands of GMs and CCP. They have policies in place for it.

Probably the best thing CCP could do for the situation is to make it absolutely clear to players from the first ad they see, and then again in the tutorial, exactly what sort of action they’re signing up for. The tutorial and game ads are woefully inadequate in moving players’ expectations away from “hand-holding RPG” and over to “desperate fight for survival”.

Personally I think totally frank ads would probably attract more players. After all, who could resist ads that say, in effect:

"EVE. It will crush and laugh at your frozen corpse.

Do not play without medication nearby and 911 on speed dial.

You’re not ready for this yet. Do not attempt. Play at your own risk.

Possible side effects include dizziness, vomiting, insanity and harsh language."

Reviewers had this to say:
“My forces were decimated. I can’t believe I fell for that trick!” - Admiral Ackbar
“Two thumbs up, would play again!” - Attila the Hun
“Too cruel for me, I couldn’t stomach it.” - Hannibal Lecter

But there is already an ad ( I don’t seem to be able to escape it every day on Youtube ) making it very clear that someone got tired of being blown up as a noob in their mining ship and went off to join faction warfare or something. Not exactly a carebear advert.

There’s another one where a guy is part of a fleet, jumps through a gate, and gets insta-ganked on the other side of the gate…

Traumatic ! Brutal ! Too honest !

I firmly feel CCP should use footage from Adrian Vexer LOL.

Yeah sadly the more targeted ads generally only appear to people who’ve already looked up other EVE videos and sites. So people who are already engaged with the game.

The teasers, trailers and ads that get seen by the general public tend to present views of the game that aren’t really in touch with actual EVE gameplay.

“Better than a night at Dorsia” - Patrick Bateman
“To paranoid for me”- Josef Stalin
“This game gave me nightmares” - Freddy Krueger
“Bigoted player base , thumbs down” - Adolf Hitler
"Full of bullies " - Biff Howard Tannen

So anyways,

I agree with the OP. It isn’t toxic behavior, furthermore I believe EVE should be marketed as such.

Blapping others is always welcome in EVE

I just come here to learn how mine and make things plus mission but they keep shotting us up. So need to know how this is allowed as it is violation of several countries cyber bully laws and anti-griefing.

We need button to make safe PVE in highsec space as legally alllowed.

if they keep chasing YOU for a extended period of TIME (days)
or try to harm you IRL
or use bigoted language etc…
its against the rules
you can report them

if they shot you because your fit is bad or simply for the LULZ its not

EVE is a full loot world PVP game , there is nothing in the LAW against it

It is against german cyber bully laws to shoot or cause grief without consent. This needs to be addressed.
