Simple Fix to Hi-Sec Ganking

The Fix: When a player sets their safety to red and aggresses in high security space, then their corp/alliance has a 30 day wardec window that the victim’s corp/alliance can chose to use(or sell?). No longer will cowards be able to hide in a non wardec corp. The next time I lose something to a low skill attack in hisec I won’t be annoyed, I will be excited at meeting my new found content partners.

CCP took the decision to make corps without structures immune to war-dec’s to stop the harassment of newbie corps and PVE corps, as a result they created a mechanic that is being exploited in a manner not intended.

This simple fix will allow the players to be back in charge of this part of the sandbox as was intended.

Welcome to EVE. Been happening for 22 years, and will continue to happen with each and every update or whenever they add something new…

You also can’t wardec NPC corps. So, if you get shanked by a ganker who is in an NPC corp, you still can’t do jack squat about it…

there is nothing wrong with hi-sec ganking.. and it wasn’t tied to war decs..

Interesting suggestion but it won’t “fix” ganking at all, I am afraid. The ones who gank hide in stations and out of corp structures and only undock/move when they have a target. That makes them virtually immune to wars. Their suicide tackle ships on gates are typically in school corps.

There is nothing to ‘fix’. The game is working as intended.

The security tags are in abundance and some days there are just too many on the regional market.

I actually think that they are seeded.

Their was an Anti Ganking squad until CCP nerf it to oblivion by catering to carebears request that back fired. They tried to fix what is not broken.

So i could make an alt, join any highsec corp i want. Shoot my main and then have a free wardeck on any non-decable corp I want?

sounds completley stupid

Pretty sure they’re put there by players who shot those Clone Soldier rats.

It’s a pretty lucrative business hunting them.

If you’re correct then there wouldn’t be as many on the market.

Don’t forget to calculate the amounts consumed for the month.

So you are saying: If it’s lucrative to hunt the rats and put the tags on the market, there won’t be many of them on the market?

Do you understand basic economics?

Seems not.

The only source I’m aware of is clone soldiers in lowsec. My understanding has always been that those already at Concord stations were sold to Concord by players who farmed them…and don’t just magically appear there out of nowhere. I assume ( always a dangerous thing in EVE ) that once used they are scrapped…otherwise the supply of them would increase exponentially.

Before any discussion starts in these threads, the OP should be asked, if the idea has been thought through from all sides and if it is safe from being exploited for malicious cause.

Most thinking and wishing only goes one dimensional in one direction. Those threads are getting tiresome.

You can’t set safety to red in an NPC corp.

ya it has, question is have you?

There would be a cool down timer, where the CEO can either strip the roles and kick the member, or have the corp/alliance able to be wardec’d by the damaged corp/alliance.
There can be a wardec damage cap, time limit or other guard rails to end the war.

No it’s not. Used to be that any corp could get wardec’d. The low skill tiny brains would then harass noobs right our of the game. Now these same low skill tiny brains (yeah I’m talking about you!) are exploiting that same mechanic.

I am all for ganking in hisec! 100% You just need to have some skin in the game, and not hide behind an unintended exploit like the low skill tiny brain risk averse cowards that they are.

Dumb reply, but ok. Thanks for your brilliant contribution to the conversation.
