I mean, you think pearl abyss is any better?
But shareholders aren’t just a gamigo thing, any public company has a legal duty to make decisions that don’t negatively impact shareholders, thats the joys of selling shares

we should “get rid of” the shareholders.
Yep. This is a place where you can test if something is wrong. Exploits discovered then devs can fix them or declare them. I have no idea why they consider exploits hunting in SISI is bad.
SISI being the nature of not a production server, players don’t worry if they messed up things there.
So google the question, it will tell you how it works and lead you to numerous player created guides for it, i mean god forbid we drive players to actually research things
What is stopping you from testing it on TQ?
Because all your examples sound like “I want a way to test this without worrying about losing it”
I mean, good luck with that, taking a company private again requires the CEO to buy back all the shares they have issued
They don’t, but thats not the reason its going away and thats not really enough of a justification to keep it around as that doesn’t solve any of the other issues, if you want to personally hunt for exploits join the ISD bughunter team
You didn’t read my post fully?
5 year ago we (in my old alliance) tested damage from titan doomsday on dreadnought, you suggest to do it on TQ?
by peoples logic you should just magically get all the isk so you can test throwiing stuctures up to test mechanics so you can instantly lose them
The all catching answer isn’t clever, as you can just throw these “Google it” words to any issue in the world. Not to mention it does not give you experience of actually do it yourself, which cannot be replaced by anything else, without practice but just “Google words” then you will do many mistakes.
And if you just going to say “why don’t you just try on TQ” then you better ask why people don’t use human in car crashing testing and why people create aircraft simulate rather than just let them fly the real one, as CCP intended to make TQ become a such environment that testing cost much that most people cannot afford.
Want to testing something without risk is not a shame to say. One should be shame for considering it is a shame. Do things before make sure it is fine is an irresponsible action in any scenario.
If you consider testing outside TQ is so bad that SISI should be closed then you better consider ask CCP to close ESI API and EVE Partner program.
Ironically Google search result of many issues that tell you how to do are made in SISI. Without SISI, you Google searching attempts probably will get much less informations.
That is an excuse of SISI down they made after SISI is down rather than the true reason of it. SISI does not solve issues as you thought so you are going to create more issues to cover it? Great idea.
If Goggle is the solution of all gameplay questions, can you please tell me the answer of this question:
Are Vorton Projectors affected by Wolf Rayet or Magnetar?
Vorton Projectors and EDENCOM ships are super expensive to operate, especially in lawlessness wormhole space, not to mentioned how you are going to find a system with such system effect. Now, SISI is down, so are you going to try it in TQ? Or ask it in help channels and get even ISD said they don’t know? Or I can reveal the answer to you.
One of my frustration about “helping” with doing tests on updates in the past is exactly that : reporting the issues WEEKS in before the update go live and see the bugs still make it to TQ. It felt like a HUGE waste of my time (and hopefully other players who helped felt the same, if they value their time).
So I really don’t feel like going back and give feedback and report bugs if it is going to be dismissed.
ah yes the ol’ “google it” which can be a problem, because half of eve’s google information is either wrong, outdated or gatekept. and in some rare cares, its given as a deleted awswer on reddit
I can’t understand how it can seem good to someone. CCP doing it’s stuff as usual
I am gonna miss performing experiments and doing screenshots on there.
As a former hardcore SISI member, it upsets me to see SISI essiantly down to the rest of the world except for tests. Needless to say, SISI was a fine addition to eve since it allowed you to test fits without financial consequence in TQ. If CCP Does bring it back, yay. If not, oh well, was a fun time reviewing AT Ships and Faction Titans for YouTube.
I also loved doing Blood Sanctum runs without risk to hunt for the dreaded Blood Dreadnoughts + Titans
Can I suggest a compromise solution.
Return SiSi as a service only accessible by Omega accounts with a five hours per month limit per account?
Don’t add new or event sites to this service.
This way, we have a place to test stuff out and can’t min/max new content prior to release.
I fear that simply cutting off sisi access entirely will lead to people being even more risk averse. Instead of trying different content or new approaches to their current content, folk will just stick with what they know.
Innovation and experimentation will become the preserves of players rich enough to take the hit when it fails.
For some of you. We don’t accept your so called “necessary risk”. What you claimed to defend the SISI down is just ridiculous as your compare of “prepare carefully” with “cheating in exam” are just attempts of conceptual shift. Your behaviors of bad language, usage of all cap case words, and label others are just insulting, venting and drama.
If you consider these words hurt you then it is talking about you.
I will write this from the google translator, 1 year ago when the SISI was open, I remember that in my corporation we were few people to play go to the Test Server. and trying new doctrines for short fights was very entertaining. apart from that we used it to teach new players with pvp themes. hold rank. gun distance. what it’s like to go with implants and a lot of other things that when I flew in the TRANQUILITY at least they already had an idea of how to play small gang themes. Since when you are a newbie you have no idea how or with what the ships work, and in the singularity we made life easier for the new pilots. That of having the test server closed seems to me to be another bad idea implemented by ccp. Even before ccp did not do events in the singularity, the server was quite active and entertaining to enter try a fiteo, die and try again to learn how to fly your ship better, not like in the tranquility that you have to spend the isk that you farmed to try to see if your fiteo is optimal for what you want to do. Even so, I would like the sisi to return as before, as a separate server to enter and have a good time without losing your money and feeling that the farming was not worth it to have your ship with optimal modules
fly safe o7
what a fantastically terrible idea. not to mention the utter lack of explanation.
sisi is an incredibly valuable testing/training tool. this is going to make training capital FCs/pilots a massive pain. nevermind the other learning opportunities lost.
to those that are like “you should have to risk it on the live server” – IRL, we have flight simulators for training pilots. I see no reason a training tool should not be available for a game set in the far flung future where pilots are teleporting around their consciousnesses.
at the very least, a scaled down testing area should be left available.
this is honestly just gatekeeping new players experimenting with content. wouldn’t matter so much in other mmos when death doesn’t cost anything or respecing/trying out things with purchased skillpoints but with eve is obviously different
So go practice it on TQ? like i’m not seeing the issue here other than you seemingly being risk averse
Because thats for actual human safety, your space pixels aren’t going to cause your physical death, so this is a literal garbage comparison and you know it
In EVE it is, because loss matters and if you want to learn you have to risk some assets, if not might i suggest WoW
Not sure what either of those things have to do with this, they don’t enable you to test things without risking anything
Unless you’re talking about ship fitting simulations, which you can already do ingame anyway
Have you tried googling that question? because eve uni has the answer in the first search result there bud
Which, again, is NOT the actual purpose of the server lol
Your acceptance of this fact is not required
Oh noes, having to put in some work to train people, heaven forbid
No, it just means there are consequences to your choices, which is fine
