Skill Point Resurgence Part 2

Seems to be slowly rolling out but not sure if there is any order to it - my accounts with characters around 50-70m SP got it first, 100+m was 1-2 days later but an account with a character with 57m SP hasn’t had it yet.

Maybe CCP doesn’t want my money… All of my other accounts haven’t received the offer either and they’re well below 50 mill SP’s.

its a very real email. you have to have an account with no activity for a long enough time to trip the algorithm.

There is probably more to it as well I wouldn’t be surprised if it targeted accounts with no activity that when were active tended to buy things more often plex, extractors, ect.

I got one for an old off grid booster that i started using as an SP farm but haven’t touched in over two years but not for any other accounts .

Interesting observation though probably just coincidence - when I played I was doing a lot of overtime at work so cash rich, energy poor and largely PLEX’d my way through and the accounts that have had the offer so far are the ones that would be most apparent on. The account which hasn’t (yet) was one I dabbled a bit in industry on the side and didn’t use for much else.

Mike is ok, don’t drag him in with Brisc please.
Seriously, there is one good one, and other than Brisc the rest are silent on here as her as I can tell.

only good in relation to the others. CCP started cracking down hard on CSM They stop communicating with you ect. They will even do it to CSM members from player groups they don’t approve of. they become csm members in name but can’t actually put in imput.

or they will just lie to the CSM what they are going to implement get all of the CSM to endorse it, release something completely different and through the csm under the buss.

Honestly I have nothing against brisc we don’t agree on some things but he does seem to try and his views stay consistent on things rather than just going with the FOTM or what would make people like him

It is scandalous that a corporation would be motivated by greed. It is shocking that employees would go along with it just so they can make money. The world is in a terrible place.

It was never a promise, it was a statement on the current policy at the time, which has been revised, policies are allowed to change and i never once saw them say they would promise anything, thats just people ignorantly assuming that once something has been said they can never change their mind, shocker, they can

What are you expecting him to say, he doesn’t get a cut of it and he doesn’t get a vote on if CCP do it, the CSM is a partial sounding board, nothing more

What part of “CCP doesn’t care” are you expecting to change by CSM members constantly bringing it up, i mean they can send all the emails they want, if the thing is making them money then

They
Do
Not
Care

I mean you’re welcome to shout in to the void and be butthurt about it, but that will change literally nothing

The only way to affect any change is to vote with your wallet and that needs enough people to do so to have an impact.

they said they would never sell skill points and that skill points were something they intended to only be generated by players…

The question is not whether they “promised” - the question is whether they did an actual pinkie promise - otherwise it doesn’t count.

Not quite, the part you guys love to harp on about is

It’s very important to note here that this means all the skillpoints available to buy on the market in EVE will have originated on other characters where they were trained at the normal rate. Player driven economies are key to EVE design and we want you to decide the value of traded skillpoints while we make sure there is one single mechanism that brings new skillpoints in to the system – training.

Thats a nearly 6 year old article now

There is no promise to never start selling skillpoints in that quote, its a statement of fact, at that point all SP on the market would have originated from characters, i get that english is a complicated language and that people would love for this quote to prove that SP selling would never be a thing, but that isn’t what it means

It was a simple statement of fact on the current state of the market, after that they started selling skillpoints and that statement was no longer correct, people seem to forget that alpha injectors were added back in 2017

This was the point at which the policy changed, but like i’ve said they never promised to not sell SP, thats just a misunderstanding from the playerbase

Do yourself a favor and don’t get into it with an apologist. They don’t adhere to the rules of civil discourse.

but the more they talk the worse their argument looks to anyone observing

I don’t apologise for anyone, i just state facts, people don’t have to like those facts but that doesn’t stop them being true, just like the people who argue that the earth is flat and refuse to accept photos and videos taken from space, it doesn’t stop the earth from being a pancake riding on the back of a giant space turtle :stuck_out_tongue:

And yes thats sarcasm, we all know the earth is infact an oblate spheroid

holy crap @Mr_Epeen what did i tell you, this guy even thinks the earth is real lol

I’ve an account that’s lapsed merely 3 months, after years of plexing it, and got the mail.
Until Monday, January 3, 2022, you can get 3,240,000 Skill Points for $79.99 to catch up with all the training time you have missed. Claim your offer today in the EVE Store.

The reason I find it mildly offensive, is this is NOT an invitation to resume playing - because it does not include game time! “Give us ur money, then you can go back to minecraft. We know you have choices, and we’re cool with it! -ccp”

CCP should include some game time with any “catch up” SP offers.

It is certainly real. I got one for a character that I stripped SP and biomassed years ago.
