Smart assistant in EVE?

i agree with you more as i getting myself more familiar with dscan…it is actually not so bad idea to constant press the key to scan and get alert beforehand..hmm..ok

Exactly. It’s too early to tell.

It will depend on those who develop it.
Also, there are several A.I’s so it isn’t it but them now and they probably identify as they/them.
Let’s hope they don’t start fighting each other :face_with_head_bandage:

3.5) When you see someone using combat probes and these probes are getting closer (no closer than 4-5 AU) - get out and dock. Don’t forget to politely greet the one who’s scanning you - this usually leads to very interesting and nice conversations and future relations. Remember: when someone attempts to kill your ship, it does not mean that they hate you or anything.

AI is not a thing, at the level to do these things.

Not an IT guy shows clearly, AIs can’t even make programs that compile (the most simple test possible for a computer).

Well, I have seen a lot of IT guys who claim they can’t program without AI anymore. I’ve taken them at their word, because they ought to know what they’re talking about. Though I’m pretty sure they can program without AI, they just don’t want to do that much work.

Probably couldn’t before either.

About the poem:

Feed it: How stupid people talking about AIs are

And get:

"The Whispers of the Uninformed

In shadows, they gather, a cacophony rife,
Words like confetti, tossed into life.
“The robots will steal,” cries one in despair,
While tongues flail about with a farcical flair.

Their frames, mere reflections of silicon dreams,
Yet endless the chatter, or so it seems.
“An AI could never,” they boldly proclaim,
Yet fail to perceive their own ignorance’s flame.

As algorithms dance in the depths of the night,
The fools hold court with their uninformed might.
In binary whispers and clicks of delight,
They miss what is clear: it’s their minds in plight.

For knowledge is power, and here they stand bold—
Blinded by worry for futures retold.
Yet beneath all the noise and the folly displayed,
Lies a hint of potential that cannot be swayed. "

Clearly it can write peotry. but it couldn’t understand the input.

I feel like it has stolen some of my poetry.

It actually has, how they work is 100% theft. Just legalized by morons thinking AIs can do anything.

Agree 100%.

My experience is the AI is worthless on it’s own, but it’s very useful when used properly (ie: when checking for bugs or outlining the flow of a program).

AI is a good source of information. They dig through documentation, forums and such. Saves a lot of time when you need to find out some obscure API call.
In some cases using AI I found some undocumented functions or enums, which i checked against source code of the library and found that documentation was not updated.

But then in many cases you see that it was a hallucination, because there’s no such API call in this library. Where did this AI got the information and code examples? I don’t know.
In many cases answers are outdated and need to be precised for your particular version of library or framework.

So, in the end: AI helps but requires some check and cannot be blind-trusted.

I am shocked. I am for a smart ass. in Eve Online. One thing we seem to lack in this game is a smart ass. in our game telling us what to do, and when to do it. So I vote YES to having a smart ass. and while we are at it, we need more lerts too. Be a lert and keep safe.

Have fun!

I’m surprised, after 20 years, how does EvE not have Aura soundpacks?

You’d expect some options there.

If they give us options, we will demand the old, and then we will prove the new is complete trash by turning on the old.

I think that should be self evident by how many users have her muted. BTW ladies, don’t you think having all these female AI voices is a tad bit sexist these days? I must admit, I have a Google nest up on the wall next to me and it is set to (default) female voice. But my nest device is pink and male voice sounds arrogant to me. My husband tells me this is my replacement when I die, he can argue with it when he gets bored.
