Interestingly a recent change means you warp in 3 minutes even if you are bumped, unless a warp disruption module is used upon you to actually shut off your warp drive. This means that while this station bumping thing can be avoided with bookmarks, in space it is also now a fair bit more complicated to keep someone bumped. By keeping your cargo value within reason this becomes a non-issue.

Bumping is beyond retarded! Don’t you love seeing a frigate bumping a larger ship lulz. It’s like a motorcycle bumping a freight train IRL… ./sigh

I always find comments like this quite special. It takes about 5min to check ingame to see that this claim is completely wrong, yet we find comments like this in every thread about bumping.

1. The most common ship used to bump Freighters is a Machariel and it is almost as big as the Freighter.
2. Bumping ships use an MWD or even an oversized MWD and those increase mass of the ship and allow for insane velocities.

Bumping follows the physical laws exactly and if you don’t believe me feel free to demonstrate with math how it is not following them.

You know, I heard a rumour that not only is “grief bumping” allowed by GMs, a large fraction of the bumpers out there are in fact the GMs themselves letting off some steam on alternate characters. They take a lot of abuse from players, so many of them spend their downtime getting back at the player base by bumping their freighters and mining ships.

Remember that next time you send in a support ticket, try to be extra nice to them or you may find yourself on the receiving end of some bumps!
