So long and thanks for all the fish!

Hi, I’m quitting the game after having achieved everything possible and all of my friends have long moved on to much higher stuff in game and in real life.

I also made the mistake of thinking that the leading space mmo with hundreds of spaceships with warp/teleportation capabilities and some alien races would contain (active) players who are open minded enough to be curious about life outside of Earth. My UFO thread, while containing only the most elementary, publicly known stuff, has caused a considerable debate and gushing of ultracrepidarians who express their views without having a look at those materials I posted in the OP, first. It gets really tiresome after a while.

Anyway, my final advice is this:
“Don’t Panic!”

Good luck with the ‘higher stuff in game and in real life’.

Just don’t get too high and bring your towel along!

STUFF ME givgivgiv

The problem with exposing your faith to the test of other people is that you might run into people who see the world differently and in a way that turns to not be compatible with your faith, yet compatible with reality.

I’m sorry to have rained on your party, specially since I have no wisdom to share, only knowledge.

Wait, was that a nested reply?

Yes it was…

I honestly thought that UFO thread went pretty well and was relatively civil (with a couple of exceptions).

You probably don’t care for this, but my observation being in the game for years is that people who announce their departure in a dramatic way, never leave. Why is it necessary to announce it at all? You wanna leave, you just leave. Not that I’m trying to be annoying, but it just seems strange.

Anyway, if the UFO thread triggered your exhaustion with the game/community, I think that is an overreaction. Considering the polarizing topic of the thread, it went fine.

See you when you get back.

What alien races? Everyone in New Eden is either a human or human-created AI.

Well, g’luck in yo struggles

can i have all your stuff?

At the very least it feels really strange to read a ragequit based on non-knowledge of the basic EVE lore…Triglavians, Drifters, Sleepers, Jovians, the 4 empires…everything apart from AI drones is a human faction…so guess who created the AI.

According to lore, Aiko is a precursor vampire, not an alien.

A few words of advice, in your travels don’t eat on the planet Lamuella. I stopped at a diner there and the cook was a horribly depressive man. Get outside touch grass and enjoy life. If you ever find yourself in Europe hunting Russian bears, as I did, take care you don’t lose a leg… as I did.

Maybe you can at least drop back here in the forums to let us know what happened a year from now?

Safe journey

Well, it’s definitely sad news when a long time Capsuleer decides to leave New Eden… Sometimes I feel like doing that as well… You started a few months before me so yeah, my opinion is don’t throw your character and assets away..

Main reason is too much time has been invested to just up and quit…

Now when I start feeling that way, I just take an extended break and keep my character subbed to train skills, that way when I log back in again after the break, I can still access and do everything I did before, plus it allows some long skills to get trained…

Anyway, I hope you reconsider and just take a break, then come back once again to fly New Eden’s space lanes..

I like Eve-Online because it’s pure human lore 21,000 years in the future.

BTW: The famous flying saucer is made in Germany

I have a feeling that @LordOdysseus won’t come back to admit his premise given for quitting was wrong all along and that he didn’t even develop an understanding of EVE and its lore in the first place… 9 years and all ignorant to basic lore…

But i can understand the feeling of a lost social connection. Had this happen also…but i played EVE solo before my involvement in alliances and politics and there is no reason i could not play solo after that again. It is up to the individual to cope with that. I find solo play much more relaxing now since i am also older. No burden for CTA, space defending and roaming, months long campaigns on the other side of the universe, and fear of a lost station, so this even is a plus for me.

Here is the real reason he quit

He dared to take on the

Goddess of Mischief

He had been punished and sent into exile, but failed to learn his lesson.

Now if he had been a good boy , I might have allowed him to join my harem.
