So long new eden

i don’t know. why?

i believe they’re being reused, because it’s easier on the server. continuously spawning and garbage collecting objects takes its toll, in this case especially during Burn Jita. personally, i am done with band aids and simple changes to supercomplex systems and just want everyone to be able to put their money where their mouth is.

Yeah I think that was definitely true with the old servers and before BIAB, which moved a lot of calculations off the server nodes to a separate server.

With TQ T3 and BIAB it may not be the same situation technically anymore, but only CCP would know.

Legacy Code™ :stuck_out_tongue:

Allowable game play or not, nobody forces them to act like a dick to prompt said reaction.

You’re “honestly describing” the individual motivations of thousands of people without knowing them, and not only that you have cleverly deduced that by an incredible coincidence they all happen to think exactly the same. Bad people.

Yes mate, that sounds well thought out and completely different from the other arguments i’ve heard… Where do i sign?

I’ve been wondering when you’ll show up.

Read the above posts. this has been covered already. no need to chew through it again. in the end, though, is self responsibility something that helps you learning that people who try to trigger you are people you should be ignoring, instead of letting your immature ego get the best of you.

Stop victimizing everyone and please keep up with progress.

i don’t know. with the 64bit client coming and the game still being written in python, or in C(++? ugh) using the python API, i don’t see this working out well. i’ve seen lowseccers complaining about aggression mechanics impacting nodes, even without CONCORD showing up, so the whole code around CrimeWatch seems to be a rather problematic thing.

And with the 64bit client foming, memory consumption will increase significantly, which means that de-/allocating objects will get even more expensive in terms of performance. personally, i’ve learned to turn garbage collection OFF in python and deal wih memory management myself. removal of reference counting (it’s a giant PITA for shared memory and forks) from the python source is still somewhere on my backlist… :frowning:

Oh you mean you posted about how it is or should be so it’s finished?

I was replying to your post from yesterday and I see nothing to indicate that your comment had been covered already.

As for immaturity, look in a mirror, i’m not the one constantly turning these posts personal and responding with insults.

If you don’t want players responding to you, feel free to follow the op.

Uhm… yeah, sure, whatever you say. You’re a totally reasonable person to talk to, unlike me who can’t form a single, well thought out post, lacks any and all knowledge about the game and constantly lives in a delusional state of evil people being around.

Sure. If you feel better that way, then go for it.

Yep. That is correct, Keno.

I’m saying point blank that there has never once been a ganker who ganked, received rage, and felt bad for having done the gank, based off of the frothy spittle flung their way.

You are more than welcome to hamster-wheel this, and to clutch those #notallgankers pearls if it suits you.

But that “bad people” thing. I feel as though we are missing some reading comprehension. Nowhere in anything that I’ve ever stated, did I say that it was wrong to gank. No where did I say the people who gank are bad people.

Gankers do not log into the game, alpha someone’s mining ship, and complain about it like it’s a thankless task at work. This isn’t punching a clock. It’s entertainment.

So please spare me the disingenuous interpretations of what I said.

Ganking isn’t any better or worse than anything else you can choose to do for fun in this game. But you are choosing to do whatever you do, for fun.

As if you’d know lol
I know plenty who didn’t have a long career because of that.

Most who gank do it for profit, and for all of us, tears are a bonus on that paycheck of phat loot.

I remember all of the times I poster about the Code on Facebook, the tears were plentiful, but it brought us some prime gankers and a lot of supporters because those people realized all the haters were victimizing themselves and making up excuses for easily avoidable deaths.

Funny, because I got more death threats on Facebook than ingame (because I played a baddie in a video game about spaceship pvp)

With that settled, I do agree that people refuse to take responsibility for their poor choices an alarming degree. Tank your frickin ships, people.

This thread has everything. The New Order getting rich, AND the delicious salty tears of the butthurt!
We got folks like Salvos asserting over and over again that they know better than CCP (again) while refusing to just file a petition and find out.

Good times!

WE’RE RICH BEEEEEEE-OTCH!
HONK HONNNNNNK

I’m gonna go drop a talos on an untanked retriever in Arnon, 'cause why not, amiright???

The only thing that’s settled is that you have no clue what you’re chatting about. And that yes people should tank their ships and quit complaining.

Thread moved to OOPE.
