I’d sell some assets.
No assets or ISK?
Then, I’d use a corvette, do some career missions, and sell/use the rewards to get a decently fitted ship for whatever I was specialized in. Inch back upward from there.
I’d also squirrel some sellable assets away in an NPC station to avoid having to start from scratch again.

I wish this could be an actual competition in Eve.
Competitors start in a new alt with zero ISK/assets, and the person with the most ISK in one day/week wins…
What are peoples thoughts on where they would be after one day?
You could set up an event like that.
The new character joins your corp and you use esi knife to monitor transactions so they aren’t cheating by sending themselves isk.
Never sell the monocle. It’s a sign of your high class that the plebs beneath you will never understand.

That would be cool, but there might be a bit too much luck involved if someone went exploring compared to someone mining away in a Venture.
Maybe have specific events, like mining, manufacturing, exploring, trading, etc. in order to negate some of the randomness involved.

Exactly, i probably would feel “Naked” without it now. It would not be the same, other capsuleers would think i am a space peasant or just a guy in local.
I changed my tactic. I would sell 4 of my 30 alts, use this money to make more money and buy the 4 alts back at the end of the month.
Never sell your monocle humble merchant, sell your friends but not your monocle.
