The Drifters shot first vs. the Triglavian, possibly-- or the Drifters showed up, and the Triglavians shot first. We don’t know, but the indication is, one way or another, that someone was unfriendly.
Uh, okay? Calling for tempered response is pitchforky and torchy time? Sure thing, Maksy.
Well you certainly have then turned your sled around, with a vengeance. Sorry, if I don’t remember all of your past deeds. Each time searching and trawling through the combined history of everyone I talk to is a bit tedious and time consuming, is it not? I have enough of a job keeping up with my own and people I actually care about. Likewise I expect you and many others to probably know almost nothing about me besides my last few posts, because I don’t have an inflated sense of self-worth or notability in this universe.
Yes, decorum is important when I’m nervous about not screwing up yet another first-contact situation. Though, if what rumours have trickled out of this gathering turn out to be true it might already be too late and instead of a powerful ally we’ll have yet another boogeyman in our galactic bedroom closet.
Under the circumstances I believe I’ve been as civil as I should be. I’ve largely focused on Nomistrav’s sudden thirst for unprovoked declaration of war against the Triglavians, but I’m the bad guy because even entertaining the notion makes me angry? How about no. I’m putting my foot down on this issue. No more. You nor anyone else will not bully me into silence.
Well, I agree with miss Teinyhr. I really would like to use the fact that they seem somewhat “contained” somewhere ( otherwise we would have heard of them before ) to NOT mess the first contact.
With drifter it’s already messed, even concord didn’t announced TC as ennemies…
In any case, insofar as the rest of it is concerned, I remain exceedingly curious as to the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the Triglavian ship.
Similarly, the hostility or non-hostility of the Triglavian Collective is not established either way. At this point, I don’t believe ARC as an institution has an official policy on this matter. Of course, new and novel technology is an area of interest; likewise, Nomistrav’s utilitarian concern about unimpeded Drifter acquisition of new technologies is an area of concern. At the same time, if communication can be established and we are able to aid in the defense of the Collective against the Drifters, then that is best achieved. If it’s impossible to establish communications, then we will need to review the courses of action available to us.
Essentially, “this is concerning,” and, “it is too early to tell.”
Through limbo’s Depths,
Travelers, encountering Orbs and Leviathans,
Shall follow a strait journey toward a Gleam of Hope,
For escaping deeply buried antique Fears.
To travel deeper down below the neutral clam of k-space. To enter the abyss that lurks below the line.
Those that enter this realm will find the ominous orbs attached to every structure and vessel of the Triglavians. Leviathans not in terms of ship class, but in the power these vessels weild to match up against Drifter armadas.
There will be no turning back. It is a journey we must move forward on. No matter how rough and lethal it becomes. Hope lays in the distance; we still yet see the shine of familiar stars in the distance. Home.
A means to escape whatever lies beneath. Old and ancient that already has billions in this cluster worried sick as to what’s to come.
As I said, you are all entitled to play your pure-pacifist game. I have learned from my experiences when I was one and found it to be impractical and largely illogical. Given the briefing we have gotten from CONCORD, we will go into this new expanse and apply the usual methods of attempts at diplomacy that have gotten us into so much trouble in the past. We will make all the usual attempts that don’t seem quite enough for the armchair delegates that routinely would have us do absolutely nothing. And we will surely fire back when we are inevitably fired on first.
And you lot can be as angry as your heart desires. Fact of the matter is that someone is going to go into Abyssal Deadspace - whether or not it is us - and someone is going to inevitably reverse engineer the technologies found. I don’t know why this fact is so hard for the people of the IGS to understand, but let me put it simply: This is going to happen and whoever gets there first - be it Drifters or capsuleers - is going to have an advantage. At least until the other party stops resting on their laurels, arguing first-contact philosophy, and making a similar move.
The Caldari pushed the Gallente into a stalemate during the war through technology; they pushed them into a stalemate through the use of capsule technology. I wonder what might have happened if the Caldari had conducted similarly pacifistic banter when the Gallente were tearing their fleets asunder with drones…
