Something that bugged me about "kybernaut philosophy"

You do realize that the whole gallente caldari war was a war of genocide on the caldari people right? So no it’s not a select minute group of people. The gallente have no issues i commiting war crimes against the caldari. And I wouldn’t say the likely billion plus people in the gallente military are a “select minute group”

I have better things to do than waste my time arguing with someone who has maybe spent five minutes looking into any Caldari-Gallente conflict and using that as justification to do the same thing to orders of magnitude more people. This one’s all yours, Captain Elkin.

Quick question for you, phased as a hypothetical. Let me offer you some backstory, first.

You are living on a temperate planet that relies on a nearby solar body to maintain the planet’s temperature as well as its plant and animal life. This planet’s biology has adapted to the specific wavelengths emitted by this star.

Suddenly, this star is made far, far dimmer, far less hot, and emits an entirely different band of colored light. This causes a cascade of biological failure on the planet’s surface and mass extinctions; the loss of a majority of food chains results in poor supply and therefore the deaths of many, many people, if not all of them if the planet’s temperature cannot sustain human life.

Now, for the hypothetical: If you knew someone was responsible for this, would you claim that they were the reason you and your family died – otherwise known as being killed?

Take your time. I know this might be difficult for you.

I don’t want her. She thinks stationside paperpushers are the ultimate authority of facts.

There’s no reasoning with those like her.

Show me before and after satellite images from these planets that have been destroyed. I do not know how Trig technology works. Perhaps they can avoid damaging planetary ecosystems.

have you literally ever been planetside??? on a planet??? if that star disappears then the planet can no longer sustain life??? how is this so hard to grasp did you do physics?? astronomy??? if the trigs are out here eating stars then there’s no way to avoid mucking up ecosystems???

Are you forgetting the fact that the trigs are attempting to bio adapt those who may suffer from such an event? Of course you are, anyway it would be their technical fault if the stellar output decrease lead to your death. But the issue is that we literally have no cases of that happening. Even on Vale the people are still alive so this isn’t even a question worth asking.

I guess in this thread, attempting to parse the aforementioned “kybernaut philosophy” is, indeed, a fool’s errand. I’ll leave you all to it!

And yet again we see Edencom leaving after making no good points.

“We invaded your system and planets and destroyed your star, but it’s okay because we also forcefully kidnapped and experimented on you.”

And yet again you don’t even have evidence of them kidnapping and experimenting on the people on temperate planets.

I guess I can leave one before I go-go. Peruse at your leisure! It’s about kidnapping. <3!

Bringing up raravoss when the people on said planets were active combatants. Now that is funny.

“What was he arrested for?”
“Resisting arrest.”

Um yes you can get additional charges for actively trying to harm police forces?

woooosh

A different perspective:

You are a child playing happily in a sweet spring afternoon, and suddenly a chill comes up. You are taken from the green pleasant place you were and put in heavy clothing and placed in a house with only windows to witness the snowstorm outside.

Would you call the people responsible for it saviours or opressors?

Don’t be obtuse Morgana, if the people that did this were the same that brought the snowstorm in the first place, then they are not saviours.

I agree. But once they brought you in to safety, are they opressors?

Perhaps it is important to get away from false dichotomies.

Yes, they did transform the conditions. No, they did not leave everyone to die.

What is the prefered adjective for this, other than a sfincter?

Once more: the idea that the Trigs are attempting to bio-adapt populations means they are violating those people’s bodies in intimate and very personal ways, with the end-goal of eliminating what they were.

That is a genocidal, technological rape, en masse.

Obviously not rape. Assimilation, perhaps.

In order to resist arrest, you have to already be under arrest. Ergo, the initial charge cannot be ‘resisting arrest’, because the individual hadn’t resisted arrest prior to being arrested.

The forcible violation of someone’s person is rape.
