I have an excellent idea. The idea is to have Space caravans between the 5 major Trade hubs that allow you to pay a fee to move any number of ships and items from one place to another say HEK to Jita. This would allow you to move a mass amount of ships and items for trade or use. Maybe there is too much of something in one hub and it is needed in another hub. Say you made a large number of a large ship that can’t be fitted into an Iteron Mark V or you spend time mining and the ore is needed in another area. Maybe it will charge you per Jump and based on the number of ships.
BTW today I got blown up in an Iteron Mark V which I filled full of Minerals and Blueprints which was heading from HEK to X90MU. I guess they blew me up early while I was still in Hi Sec. Anyway, these caravans will be well-guarded. I was really upset it was my first time getting blown up but at least he didn’t pod me.
Would players please give feedback on this? These Spaceships are too stationary for there to be space commerce, I image spaceships as moving from one place to another.
Red Frog Freight and other such entities exist for the sole purpose of hauling stuff around New Eden. Their fees are reasonable and they certainly seem to be ‘well guarded’.
I don’t know how to use these Red Frog Freight players. I want it to be convenient. What if you have two of the largest ships in the game, how do you move that besides piloting it yourself? Also, I would like to see the Jump Clone time to be reduced to once every 8 hours. It’s just hard to do industry between 5 different stations, transportation is just inconvenient.
I don’t know what the objective of the game is, it’s not like World of Warcraft where there are bosses to defeat. I’ve just started to explore station agent missions. I’m really new to the game so any help is appreciated. The PVP action seems to happen when you least want it. I want to be an Industrialist but I am having difficulty being divided between 5 capital trading hubs, I only have 5 industry slots and that works out to 1 thing per hub. My friend wants me to spread even further into losec, X90MU. We are trying to mine there. I tried to fly an iteron full of minerals and blueprints there but I got blown up in hisec. I was going to stop in Torrinos to off load the blueprints onto a shuttle but that didn’t happen because I got blown up before I was out of hisec.
Yes, this would be a service offered by the station itself. Much like the cloning bay. I don’t know what to call it, maybe space transport is available. It would be a menu where you select your ships and items and select a destination. When I play I think of myself as being an admiral with Captains playing my ships. If I can afford enough captains I can fly all my ships but we won’t try to change that just yet. But at least being able to move all your inactive ships would be nice. I just don’t see the point in having all these inactive ships if you never use them. I have 5 retrievers to feed minerals to each of my five trade hubs.
NPCs should not do anything that could be done by players. Players are already able to provide the service you’re requesting. There are entire corps and alliances built around it.
Sorry, I don’t want to be a slave player. How does this player-run shipping service work and how do you trust that your billion ISK blueprint won’t get stolen?
Just because you don’t doesn’t mean no one does. And the fewer people who want to do something the more they can demand for the service. So again if something can be done by players it should be. That’s what makes eve great
Look up red frog and you can put collateral on the contracts so if they die or steal it you get payed out
I suggest you learn the game as it exists before you start trying to re-engineer it. Start with this resource: https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/. Maybe even think about joining EVE University to learn the game.
Red Frog and PushX are two reputable player-run freight services.
@Niwa_Bitwise Don’t haul unless it’s in small quantities and in a fast-align ship. Have someone else do the hauling.
If you’re piloting a slow heavy ship in Hisec you better be ready for a fight or don’t even bother.
The objective of the game is to have fun!
Learn what there is available to do, chose something and go for it.
I chose mining because I love stealing ore from under the noses of the Lowsec denizens and reselling it on the market.
For you it may be different. Find out, undock and go out there. Be aware though, there is always someone looking to destroy your ship!
I found courier contracts under contracts! How do they work, can you explain them. I’m in two places in Rens I want to move all that to one trade hub. It’s just that one didn’t have a clone bay. I want to move all my stuff to the place with the clone bay,
By the way, I’m really new to the game. I’ve Been playing for about a month, and I bought ISK—about 5 billion worth. I’m established in every trade hub. I’m having difficulty making things for sale in all 5 hubs. Everything I own is concentrated in the 5 trade hubs and Torrinos. Any help is appreciated. It requires my to have 6 copies of every blueprint I buy which is a hardship.
Then don’t try to re-invent it. Learn it. Start small, improve slowly. 5B after a month is quite good. You won’t be a major trader in 6 months. Maybe not even in a year. EVE is too big for that and you know too little of hot it works. Come back with suggestions after ~5 years when you know the basics of this game. I am sure you have a lot better ideas then.
I wish I could set a destination and turn on the auto-pilot for all my ships and remain in the station. I don’t know how to explain it but I would like to be able to set the autopilot for ships I am not boarded in. Please help me manage my assets. I’m finally flying to all my trade hubs and fitting the ships I bought but didn’t fit.
Courier contracts or buy a freighter and fly yourself, actively. Learn how not-to-be-ganked tho, Autopilot will kill you. ProTip: It’s a MULTI player game. Cooperate with OTHER PLAYERS instead of doing everything yourself. Yes, you will need to share the profits then. Thats part of the concept.
