SPACE IS WAAAY TOO BRIGHT!

Never knew you could do this. I knew you could turn off the foreground(UI), but didn’t know you could turn off the background.

I have a new way to remove distractions when multiboxing, yay!!!

Yeah, some regions’ nebulae need brightness adjustments, and not just because of the current metaliminal storm effects.

Customer : ‘ Waiter…..there’s a fly in my soup’

Waiter : ‘ Ah, you’re just looking at the soup from the wrong angle ‘

Customer : ‘ No…there’s definitely a fly in my soup ‘

Waiter : ‘ It wont be there if I turn up the lighting above the table ‘

Customer : ‘ Nope….there is still a fly in my soup ‘

Waiter : ‘ That Rolex watch you are wearing is sending quantum discombobulation to the soup ‘

Customer : ‘What ?’

Waiter : ‘ Have you tried cleaning your glasses ?’

Customer : ‘Its still there. Look…here…a fly ! ( Takes selfie with fly in soup ). How about simply giving me a soup without a fly in it ?’

@ISD_Drew Have a Very Merry Holiday Season!

I’m glad that I can, if not keep the ISD entertained, at least busy! :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

This is all quite laughable. You might as well add..

Step7….stand on your head and recite Macbeth backwards

I create and sell online art. I would not be able to do so if my settings were all wrong in the first place. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my settings. They work just fine for every other game I have, and for several other MMOs. It is absolutely ridiculous to suggest that I alter my entire PC settings just for one game…rather than ever admit that the problem lies with that one game.

I am guessing this got buried under the other replies.. But here is the common sense approach. You can adjust everything for each game individually. When I was trying WoW. The first thing I did was go into setting and adjust the gamma, ect to my liking. Have done so for this and another game. Plus started BG3 and did the same.
Remember I am Boomer that can not set the time in his car or when the VCR/DVD’s were a thing set the time on those blasted things either.

Yet I have enough gumption and can do this simple hat trick that makes everything better for me. Go figure a boomer able to do something so technical in individual games. That youngsters are complaining about.

Occasionally games even start with a gamma slider before you start the game to make sure the player has their brightness settings adjusted so they can correctly see the dark and bright things without it being too dark or bright.

Some games, like EVE, don’t do that. But that doesn’t mean you cannot adjust the brightness yourself.

The fan bois are going to say CCP can do no wrong and I don’t bother talking to them. These space graphics have been incorrect since I starting playing here. Too bad we have to run with the monitor turned off to enjoy your f–king game CCP! I run with the 3D toggled off about 80 or 90 percent of the time. I don’t even need or want a slider, just give me a tick box to check Disable Backgrounds. Then I can at least see the ships and stations.

Why should I need to fiddle with the brightness settings on my monitor at all? Do you fidget with the TV setting per movie you watch. The Solo movie was too dark at the start, I NEVER finished watching it and never will.

ctrl + shift + F9.

If you missed that all this time, I’m pretty sure you missed other settings, including graphical.

Again, I don’t have this problem. Several people on this thread don’t have this problem. People in-game I’ve flown with don’t have this problem. Ergo, there is nothing wrong with the graphics of the game other than game/computer settings. Or your eyes.

And for the record, I don’t have graphical problems with any of the programs I work with. I do architectural renderings on the Mac I use for playing EVE. Those require adequate graphics settings or your work will be of no use at all. EVE looks good. Renders look good. Images look good. Films look good. Without me tampering with my graphics settings switching between different software.

You must not read a lot. I clearly stated I run most of the time with that mode. HOWEVER that mode kills all 3D thus no ships or stations. Makes you look dense, when you don’t read the whole thing.

I’ve read most of the thread. Two threads have been merged in here now. I’m not backtacking every post I missed due to this, no. In the post I replied to you only said you run with ‘monitor off’. No idea what that means exactly, you didn’t specify. If that’s what you meant, great, then you didn’t need that particular advice.

I’m aware ctrl + shift + F9 removes ships and stations. And I’m sure there is a contingent of players who would want those models to remain in the scene. But for now there is no other option. That’s the only way to turn off background at the moment. At least that option is there at all.

Thread can be closed, that better for all

Have you actually tried it?

The game looks a lot better on lowest brightness.
