Speak up b4 eve is gone

hey… not a negative post but one of important constructive critiscism that we all need to hear some of us will already know this some may get angry at me for this…

on 19th september 2004 i created my first character in eve online… loved it but real life took over, came back… OMFG!!!

the game is done, the business model has doomed it to a slow creeping death, the unashamed full on greed of the management isn’t totally shocking since i have had active black desert online account i have seen how they monetise their games…

eve was never intended to have this kind of predatory practices going on where everything that made eve unique has been monetised… they could have easily made some relatively easy changes that would have ticked so many boxes for them namely new player retention.

they could have debloated the skills yet they added more bloatware to it…
they could have tweaked or done something else with the attributes to make it easier to train differant skill groups without affecting their income yet they kept it or added things like boosters for insane amount of plex so they know the attirbutes are a issue but nothing is done but to add more stuff to buy for plex.

these events like the crimson harvest … who are these events for really?, they certainly arent for chunks of the playerbase. game needs risk reward … isk sinks etc but these events show the motives very clearly and it isnt good. amount of people who just flipping skills orust not bothering to log in for the month while this is on… but this is what the playerbase wants for content though right?

why would anyone invest anymore time and effort planning just to have it ruined … cos it feels like the goalposts are being moved constantly now… very divisive.

wont be long til we see 40k plex bundles in the cash shop…

multiboxers … destroying the game they claim to love so much, no need to work with anyone else ingame when you can do it all on your own, needs to be limited to one account and one account only if multiboxing is allowed to go on it WILL lead to the death of the game you can see it already… its not just this its all the other issues

SKILL BLOATING : the skills need to slimmed down, far too many racial specific or uneeded skills… its all about the money.

PLEX : get rid of this, this singlehandedly is destroying the game more than anything else… the management are never going to be happy with what profits they have regardless how much it is, they will dictate the game to driving the WHOLE economy towards this…its happening now.

will only be popping in for the odd random flying visit from now on unless things change.
thank you for the memories.

EvE has changed so so much and not for the better… very sad but glad now i see the light and can accept the fate of eve…

can you?

There’s nothing wrong with the game.

Good Morning to You Too!

I too play BDO and frankly told people here, I spend money there on furniture and clothes, but nothing spent here in over a year of playing this game. If I estimate the dollar value I have spent on BDO, I would guess about $200 over a 3 year period. However I am NOT a common place Eve player. Obviously you can’t compare a chronic Eve player to deep-seated BDO player. The games have different interests.

Creeping death is in all online games from the moment they start. This is not the cause of the games, but the fickle players who see the next bright and shiny and go running off to play it. Like Tamatoa from Moana they collect online games on their back. New people come and go, some come in only to kick the tires. All games lose players over time. Guild Wars the original sold 6 million copies of their game, today the original game still sells for about one-fifth the price and has about 5000 people still playing every day.

As I stated, I don’t buy a thing with cash, there is no item in the NES I currently desire. However I did buy the yellow catsuit from the market with ISK. I didn’t even PLEX for it, I used straight ISK. I currently own one Astrahus and have about 4 to 5 billion or more ISK on hand. I don’t play as omega, I make my ISK just playing the game and having fun. I don’t know if you are talking about the new launcher, when you say bloatware, but I agree the launcher is too much. Like many others, I turn it off when the client starts. It makes my game run better, when I turn it off.

I am not into “skills” but once my characters hit 5 million, I don’t care anymore than I do now. I can afford to buy skill injectors with ISK, assuming I need a skill.

Well this is the standard for a lot of games, however I cannot buy pearls on BDO market, and I already commented elsewhere the market in BDO is a blind market with low and high bid limits. This is why I have spent more money on BDO, but removing the PLEX isn’t a great idea. Many players who buy and sell PLEX for ISK, would vanish overnight.

I started playing just over one year ago as a casual alpha. Science fiction is not my thing, I like high fantasy. I permanently left a fantasy MMO because they removed game content, but you seem to be complaining because they added stuff to this game. How weird is that?

Have fun!

Starts with:

… proceeds to make a negative post without constructive criticism, telling us the game is dying:

And complains about having too many skills:

even though if they had been playing since they ‘made their first character in 2004’ they by now would not have had any useful skill left to train next.

‘Delete this, delete that’ isn’t constructive criticism, especially not when you don’t show you understand why those elements are part of the game.

What do you think happens when players can only obtain ingame value for out-of-game money via those russian website spammers?

What do you think happens when players with less income or lower local currency values cannot earn their subscription ingame via PLEX? Would it benefit EVE if these players left the game?

Glad to hear you have good memories of the game!

Could you do us a favour and not post negative nonsense whenever you pop in for the odd random flying visit from now on?

What do you have against Crimson Harvest? It’s the only event that ever actually motivates me to play. Not for the PVE stuff, but for the 90% loot drops.

As it’s been said “let it die” eve will never ever be what it was as many people who made it what it was have passed on or moved on.

In our brave new gaming world monetization is the name of the new game and that is not going to change.

You are older than me! It’s time for you to move on and let some other people have fun. Eve Online is clearly not the game for you!

oh how original, eve is dying post, and even more unoriginal, from someone who doesn’t understand the most basic concepts of business or economics!

What even are you complaining about here? The event hasn’t really changed at all for years and has been popular.

I do!!! They make absolutely great targets. Shame they don’t make hard targets anymore.

Why do these rants never, ever, say how the alleged issues have personally affected the ranter ? They never do. Never any specifics. It’s always some generic rant relating to some vague ‘they’.

Probably because they make good targets? Asking for a friend.

can i haz ur stuff?

Its easy to say, this and the others are ■■■■. Pointing at somewhere is not part of to solution. What i would like to see, from your side, is something like that.

Offer a business plan for a Company running over 200 employees, to keep up their finances and running this game in a non-static enviroment.

Sorry, but this is only polarization here, no real answers.

Most players had never even heard of the TTT and especially not the alliance cartel there. So there was never any ‘player revolt’. There was just a few opportunistic corps that declared war…and everyone else jumped on the bandwagon later. I’d bet that 99% of the people bashing the TTT had never heard of the alliance cartel a week earlier.

People must have been living under an asteroid if they had not known about the one and only Keepstar in HS space right next door to Jita, which offered lower taxes and therefore better prices than Jita on many items.

Sure, I can believe that many players never knew the details of the alliance cartel running it, but I doubt many people had never heard of or bought at that Keepstar.
