Speak up b4 eve is gone

Generations change. The gamer of 2000s is not the gamer of 2024. Like any product it changes with the current generation.

I was making the point that there was never any ‘player revolt’. There simply wasn’t. It’s yet more retro-active Eve ‘history’. Yet more forum BS.

Hey…I’m a gamer of 2024, and I was a gamer of 1982. My most un-favourite game is called ‘Hasty Generalisations’…which seems to be a very popular game on this forum.

Gamer of today has the attention span of like a bird or something :stuck_out_tongue:

Those don’t make it far in eve. I would say that any young gamer that DOES make it into eve and sticks around for a while is probably someone who is happy they finally found a game with some substance, compared to all the other dopamine games. They’re probably going to fit right in.

Had they not changed it i doubt we would have been any better off, infact it might have been worse because as a subscription only game there is less income so we likely would have seen the end already

Yep.

Good post overall.

Enjoy it as it is, while it lasts.

We’re not too far off from the plug-pull, they’ll just milk the cow till it’s no longer worth it.

PS: If you want a chilled lowsex pvp corp, drop me a line ingame.

There’s plenty of dopamine to be had in Eve, and even from day 1.

There will always be sci-fi RPG nerds around.

The MMORPG is not out of fashion just yet …

Calm down you beauty.

Gosh…you’ve managed to be in Eve 17 years and not have a single killboard record. Will we even notice if you log in again ?

Thanks for the memories.

I always wondered how hard EVE was back then.

Well, the closest you could warp to a gate was 15km, beyond that you had to make instajump BMs …

Oh and during beta, when you jumped in a system, you didn’t spawn right next to the gate on the other side, you spawned anywhere in the system …

Also, you had to mine and do industry for your ships and stuff at the beginning, as none of the big market hubs existed.

A Corp with many battleships at its disposal was considered “strong” …

It was hardcore mode, but very fun, and getting along with your corpies to achieve your objectives, mattered, like, a lot…

The introduction of WH space was kind of reminder of those times, and I loved them for it.

But imo, ccp should invest in a new server that gets asset wiped once every couple years, it would keep the player v player v environment interaction fresh, like most hardcore survival games.

We’ll see what Eve Frontier gives in that regard …

Real Life history should teach you a thing or two about respecting your elders.

You seem to be a newer player. What do you know about

when EVE was great?

But what if EVE will be gone by that time?! :eyes:

:smirk: :innocent:

I agree.

Exactly the same thing is happening in another game I have been playing for over 17 years. Dofus.

Many players made their own 8 man teams and don’t interact with anyone in the game, they just farm the dungeons for top end drops and sell them, same as on here now.

Also as on here now (plex/injectors) they can pay to be leeched to whatever level they want in a few days, rather than grinding for well over a year.

But at least on there my annual sub costs less than 3 months of subs here, and cheaper when there’s a sale on.
