BLUF: Request a popup be added to the “Shipyard” room when running Exotic (Level 5) filaments that keys in new EVE players who were not present for its inception, that the special room has a way out, they do not have to fight through in order for the gate to open. Something like;
“You have stumbled upon a Triglavian Shipyard. Take on at your own risk. By chance, the outbound gate is locked open and you can run if you choose not to engage in this fight."
-----
I am new to running Abyss rooms and have been steadily working my way up to Chaotic Exotic Filaments (Level 5) over the past month or so.
The first time I ran into this “Special” room I mistakenly attributed it to an accidental activation of a Cataclysmic Exotic Filament (Level 6). I chalked it up as a learning opportunity.
The second time I ran into this room I knew I had activated a Chaotic Element and thought that I had hit a “bug” in the game in which I was sent to a higher-level abyss by accident. I submitted a Support ticket, thinking I had found a bug and was told, very professionally, that this harder variety of room was intentional.
I then took to YouTube and found a video telling me the history of this “special” room and how it was designed to hint at the production of Triglavian Dreadnoughts and the potential drop of cool loot. And even to my own embarrassment, I found out that the outbound gate was already open. I could have just left, but I didn’t even think to look for that because I “knew” that the only way to open the gate was to destroy every ship present.
I do not mind losing ships (most of the time) while learning how to play this game. But I also don’t think that we should have to go to YouTube to figure out how to play.
For this Abyss room I am thinking that a pop-up be displayed upon entering that informs players of the special circumstances of this room. A little hint to its difference/rarity and a hint that combat is not required to open the outbound gate.
Thank you for listening to this old man’s grumbles.
