I would like to add my post to the chorus of people complaining about the client no longer launching. Running steam deck steam OS.

Have you deleted the app-1.10 folder? Worked for me, once that folder found itself in the trash bin.
I tried that, still didnt work. The eve logo appears on the taskbar, the splash screen appears, then both disappear and im back to square one.

What proton are you using? I am using 9.0-4
im using the same version
Same problem on PC. Debian 12, nvidia with up-to-date proprietary drivers, Steam. Tried deleting 1.10, nogo. Manually added 1.9, nogo. Added -dx11 to Launcher Options, nogo. Tried several versions of Proton, nogo.
I have similar issue from 9 of may, client stop launching just splash icon in tray and hide it. Usually it works on default settings just install from steam market and run all worked. But now It doesn’t run from steam launcher or from steam OS (linux). I’ve started to launch from Lutris or Heroic same issue 
. Looks like CCP smth broke in the last release.
Looks like CCP released update, and after switching on Proton - experimental, the game launched
