"Stop Killing Videogames"

I am not good with marketing, especialy when it’s done out of emotions but this is far too important to me to just not spread it around

There is a campaing call “Stop Killing Videogames” that aim to force company to not leave pull the plug out of the games and leave it unplayable ( anyone remeber The Crew where they suddently decide to pull the online function out, making it unplayable, even tho dataminers found hidden files where the game could be, to this day, still be play in an offline way )

Now, immagine if you play your favorite Cod games or something more fancy, like elden ring and, one day, without warning, you can’t play it anymore ? congratulation, you just spent over 70 euro for a games that was, for all intent, stolen from you and you don’t want that do you ?

I already sign it and you guys should also do the same.

We already reach the quorum on the 7 nations of EU be on board with this, we just need the 1m firm to have it go trought

don’t let company keep stealing your product because the pubblisher decide to pull the plug out and make it other unplayable or, worse, remove it from the store, force them to put system to let the game be in a playable state even in an “offline mode”

if its an online game, like EVE, or you buy a digital game on a console, you’re paying for the license to use that game.. thats all it is.

This isn’t about MMOs, it’s about live service games in general. If games like Path of Exile or Diablo goes down, you shouldn’t need internet connection to be able to keep playing it.

that was one reason why i got rid of avengers.. PoS game.. i don’t like the idea of live service games… EVE isn’t in that same category IMO.

Correct, which is why this is in the out of pod experience section. It’s about other games and getting visibility to this issue in gaming.

if i buy a game, it’s became mine.

if you then leave said product, especialy live service one, in an unplayable state or, worse, remove it from game store and making me, the buyer, unable to play it again ( like the crew online ) that’s thief.

Remember: company these days want you to own nothing and be happy that you own nothing, this petition aim to stop that and force company to make their games still function even when the pubblisher decide to pull the plug out.

i disagree.. you agreed to purchase a license.. once that game is removed etc, the license is revoked, then no unless you have it installed, or it has a single player function to it, you do not own it… physical is different, and many courts have sided with the game companies over this…

see “the crew” by ubisoft..

the crew could have been played offline, there are files that dataminers found in the game code that the game could be play offline but ubisoft just removed from the game store and your library, effective stealing money of you.

Company want you to be happy into owning nothing and be happy; sad that you agree with it

Yes. And I’m pretty sure this is stated in the EULA or somewhere along the way as well. You don’t own the game. You didn’t develop it. Developers can do what they want with it. And no, they are not stealing from you when they take it offline.

In case of EVE, you’re just paying for a subscription and nothing you do within the game – content you create, characters, screenshots, activities, anything really – you don’t own any of those either. Only if CCP pulls the plug before your subscription ends, then you have a right to get reimbursed for the game time you already paid and never got to use.

The original poster could work on their English grammar as well. Difficult to read a text where every third word is incorrect factually or grammatically. I know it’s very ‘‘cool’’ with the younger generations these days to use incorrect spelling and grammar, but when you are that much wrong with grammar you’re not gonna be taken seriously with whatever your point was either.
